Though she hasn’t existed as long as other mainSuper Mariocharacters, there’s no doubt that Rosalina is one of the franchise’s stars. She made her first appearance inSuper Mario Galaxyin 2007, and quickly became a fan favorite. Rosalina has since appeared many big ensemble titles includingMario Kart,Mario Tennis, andSuper Smash Bros.
This regal ruler of the cosmos has a complex story behind her. Rosalina is wise and humble, and she watches the universe with great care. She is a mother figure to the Lumas and entirely devoted to being a force for good. Rosalina’s many appearances have seen her in an array of different outfits. However, some are better than others.

12Golf Get-Up
Mario Golf: Super Rushtees up a much shorter dress for Rosalina than her usual gown. It retains her cyan and white color scheme, however the neckline resembles a polo shirt. Her short skirt is flared, and has panniers connected to the bodice of the dress. The outfit is completed with white stockings, white and cyan trainers, and a single cyan golf glove.

Rosalina carries her usual wand and wears the same silver crown and golden earrings seen in other games. It’s clear from this outfit that Rosalina prioritizes modesty, and it has the added benefit of being sun safe. However, the wide layered skirt seems impractical fora game of golfand ultimately leaves room for improvement.
11Dr. Fire Rosalina
It’s a wonder this cosmic ruler has the time to study medicine, and yet Dr. Fire Rosalina makes her debut inDr. Mario World. Her classic gown is recolored to the red and white Fire Flower scheme, and she wears a doctor’s lab coat over the top. Alongside her usual jewelry, Rosalina has a stethoscope around her neck.
Though the design is practical and stylish, it leaves a little to be desired in terms of imagination. Like many Fire Flower variants, something that leans more into the fire aesthetic would have more impact. This dress also appears inSuper Mario 3D WorldandMario Kart Tour.

10Bewitching Halloween Costume
This spooky look features inMario Kart Tourand is aspecial Halloween variant. The outfit consists of a dark purple version of Rosalina’s classic dress, a dark purple witch’s hat with pumpkin decoration, black stockings, and silver shoes.
Pops of Rosalina’s typical cyan appear in the ribbon on the hat and a bow at the back of the dress. The look is a cute costume for Rosalina and quite apt, too, as she already has her own magic wand. Though, a few more stylistic flourishes would add a bit of flair.

9Super Smash Dress
Normally, the outfit variants inSuper Smash Bros.are a more elaborate version of classic character styles. However, Rosalina’s dress was a little phoned in. It retains much the same look as her classic dress with an added layer at the sleeves, star decorations on the skirt, and small changes to the coloration of the hem.

Rosalina wears her usual crown jewels and carries her star-shaped wand to deal extra damage. It’s a perfectly good interpretation of Rosalina’s usual style, but it doesn’t do enough to earn it a higher place in this list.
8Tennis Mini
Having appeared in only two ofthe majorMario Tennisgames, Rosalina’s tennis look hasn’t varied much. She wears a short dress not unlike Princess Peach’s, in her usual cyan scheme. The dress has a higher collar than many of her outfits and a small, flared hem at the base.
This sporty look is completed with a cyan and white wristband, silver stockings, and cyan tennis shoes with a power star stamp. Rosalina also carries a matching tennis racket with a power star decal on the strings.

7Volendam Variant
As part of the Amsterdam tour inMario Kart Tour, players were introduced to Rosalina’s Volendam variant. Named after a province in the North Holland region of the Netherlands, this variant showcases a version of Dutch traditional dress. The main dress is black with blue and white flower decorations, and is paired with a pointed white hat and yellow shoes.
This look is a cute nod to Dutch culture, despite there being little reason to connect Rosalina to it specifically. It also makes a nice change from her usual color palette and is one of a few darker pieces in her wardrobe.

6Chef Outfit
Another unlockable look for Rosalina inMario Kart Touris herchef outfit. This look consists of a white chef’s jacket tucked into a striped cyan skirt, with a white apron tied over the top. Rosalina’s chef’s hat and boots also feature her color scheme, but flipped to prioritize white over cyan.
It may be a little impractical, especially with all that white, but it’s refreshing to see Rosalina in something more whimsical. Seeing as she’s wearing it on the kart track, she might want to keep a firm hold on that hat.

5Classic Gown
Making her debut inSuper Mario Galaxy, Rosalina is introduced as a powerful protector of the cosmos. She wears a floor-length cyan gown with flowing sleeves, and paler cyan edging at the hem. This look is different to the other iconicSuper Marioprincesses as it boasts a unique A-line silhouette and off-the-shoulder neckline.
Rosalina also wears a star-shaped silver brooch with a golden gem in the middle of her chest. She carries a golden wand with a star at its tip and wears her usual silver crown. This simple gown is a sophisticated alternative to her otherNintendo princess counterparts.

4Motorbike Jumpsuit
When players choose a bike inMario Kart, the game often puts their characters in a biker suit for safety. For Rosalina, this look lends her plenty of style. Her jumpsuit flips her usual color scheme to favor white over cyan, and features long cyan boots, gloves, and an ascot around her neck.

This look is entirely practical, allowing her to hit high speeds on the bike and not worry about any cumbersome skirts getting in the way. Though it’s not just because of this suit, Rosalina is also one of the best characters to use foroptimalMario Kartbuilds.
3Aurora Dress
Mario Kart Touralso introduces the Aurora variant of Rosalina. This look features a stunning gown inspired by the Northern Lights. Its unique cascading design and bright cosmic colors are unlike anything seen from typical Nintendo designs. The outfit also includes matching gloves, silver shoes, silver stockings, and purple and blue gems in Rosalina’s hair.
Despite the lack of Rosalina’s typical simple elegance, it still feels apt for her position of protector of the cosmos. ManySuper Mariofans adore this look on the usually stoic princess, and believe it to be Rosalina’sbest design in the games.
