With the game set to launch this September,Square Enixis ramping up its marketing push behind the sequel, with the latest slice of content showing off the game’s introduction of Alex. The clip is just under two minutes long and focuses on the protagonist talking to a social worker about her time in foster care. It’s an intriguing introduction to the world ofLife is Strange: True Colors, setting up its story and Alex as a character.

Throughout the introduction, the social worker asks Alex about her impending move to a small town in Colorado, where she’ll be living with her brother Gabe. The protagonist seems initially excited about the change of scenery, talking about how she intends to pick up a few shifts at a local bar. However, the mood shifts quickly, with the social worker asking Alex whether Gabe’s aware of her “issues.” The clip ends with the protagonist revealing that he isn’t, telling her interviewee that she intends to put her past behind her and live a normal life.
