The French game studio Don’t Nod has had quite the busy year in 2023 after not releasing a game sinceTell Me WhyandTwin Mirrorin 2020. This year, the studio has released two titles. The choice-driven adventure gameHarmony: The Fall of Reveriewas released over the summer to solid reviews, while its climbing-focused adventure gameJusantlaunched directly onto Xbox Game Pass this fall. Don’t Nod was planning on releasing a third title in November, themuch more ambitious-lookingBanishers: Ghosts of New Eden, before it was pushed to May 24, 2025.

Now, Don’t Nod has unveiled its newest title at The Game Awards.Lost Records: Bloom and Rageis the first game in development at Don’t Nod’s new Montreal branch that opened in 2020, and its art style is strikingly similar to that ofits belovedLife is Strangefranchise. The game is set in the mid-90s and is centered around a group of four high school friends named Autumn, Nora, Swann, and Kat. It’s unclear exactly what the gameplay will entail, however, judging by the fact that the art style is nearly identical toLife is Strange,Lost Recordsseems most likely to be a similar style of narrative adventure.
As indicated by the title and the fact that the characters are seen playing in a band to open the trailer, music will play a central theme inLost Records.Despite Deck Nine developing instead of Don’t Nod,2021’sLife is Strange: True Colorssimilarly has music at its heart, so it seems Don’t Nod will continue that appreciation of music withLost Records. Interestingly, this is set to be the first of a series ofLost Recordgames to come. Whether they’ll follow the same set of characters or introduce a completely new setting and cast for each title, a laLife is Strange, remains to be seen.
When Is Lost Records: Bloom and Rage Coming Out?
Lost Records: Bloom and Ragehas been stamped with a late 2024 release window, and it frankly seems like a perfect game for the Autumn months. The game will be making its way to Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5, as well as Steam. Coming off a busy 2023, it seems like 2024 will also be loaded for Don’t Nod, asit has bothBanishers: Ghosts of New Edenand nowLost Records: Bloom and Ragelined up for the new year.
