Naughty Dog has just released a newThe Last of Us Part 1patch for PC, which is set to prevent a few crashes and solve minor issues in the game. This latest patch is another important step to improve the experience ofThe Last of Usgamers after the disastrous PC launch.Launched on PC last month,The Last of Us Part 1was one of the most catastrophic PC releases of the year so far. The ex-PlayStation exclusive was eagerly awaited by the community due to its acclaimed story. However, several graphical glitches, poor performance, constant crashes, unreasonably long loading times, and many bugs spoiled its release.Naughty Dog acknowledged the issue, vowing to address the most concerning problems, and has been releasing patches constantly to fix the game essentially every week.RELATED:Ironic The Last of Us PC Bug Robs Joel and Ellie of a Perfect ViewThe 1.0.1.7 hotfix comes on the heels ofthe previousThe Last of Usupdate, which focused on improving memory usage and diminishing performance issues. The current patch makes small tweaks to Xbox controls, and the game’s user interface and takes care of several crashes that plagued the title before. For instance, no longer will gamers face crashes when the game is launched or just before the final credits scene.

Naughty Dog also stated that, while fixing the game for Steam Deck was not the biggest priority at the moment, it would do it eventually. Yesterday, the developersdelistedThe Last of Us Part 1from Steam Deck, as the game’s performance on the platform was very poor. At the moment, the focus is solely on fixing the game on PC, and players can expect a new update to be out on Friday, which will solve even more problems. As soon as the game is doing well enough on PC, it may be fixed for Steam Deck and re-added to the online store.

PC ports are fairly often poorly optimized, but Naughty Dog completely failed fans with a game that was in a barely playable state when launched, which led many gamers to describe it as the “worst PC port” ever, something that is fairly exaggerated, but showcases well how bad the reception was. So, it’s unclear whether these patches will be enough to improve the goodwill of the PC community about Naughty Dog’s games. The Last of UsPC port was review bombed on Steam, receiving mostly negative reviews due to its bad performance when it launched. At the moment, it’s currently standing at mixed with 45% positive reviews.
