Game studio Creative Assembly has confirmed that the freeDynastiesupdateforTotal War: Pharaohwill be released on July 25. The update will bring new content to the game for all players, including four new major factions, 25 minor factions, 168 new cities and villages, over 150 new and revamped units, and a considerable map expansion. Creative Assembly said theDynastiesadd-onwon’t be accessible insideTotal War: Pharaoh.Instead, owners of the base game will automatically receiveTotal War: Pharaoh-Dynastiesas a separate edition of the game in their digital library.
TheDynastiesupdate was officially announced in May, but without a release date. At the time, the update promised to add the Mesopotamian and Aegean regions as well as the factions of Babylon, Assyria, Mycenae, and Troy. These additions would significantly expand the map, something the community has requested since the game’s launch. Players had previously questioned whyTotal War: Pharaohdidn’t include the Aegean Sea region, which was alreadypresent inTotal War Saga: Troy. The new factions would also bring unit overhauls for Troy and Mycenae to better integrate with the game mechanics, while Babylon and Assyria would introduce new units.

Total War: Pharaoh - Dynastiesis officially scheduled to release on PC on July 25 as a free update forTotal War: Pharaoh, with the expansion bringing a wealth of new content. Each of the four new major factions will have its owncampaign featuring historical leadersand diverse armies to command. 25 minor factions will also be included in the update, such as Napata, led by the warrior king Memnon, and the Aeolians, led by the legendary Achilles.

Total War: Pharaoh’s original campaign map will nearly double in size withDynasties. 168 new settlements will be added, including new landmarks, victory goals, and more. The update will introduce new Sea Travel Lanes that speed up fleets transporting armies, and enable faster raids and invasions.Dynastieswill also introduce many unique unitsalongside the new major and minor factions. There are over 150 new and reworked units, including the addition of cavalry, camel riders, and faction-specific units.
Finally, the update will add a new system called Dynasty that will influence the gameplay ofTotal War: Pharaoh. With this feature, players can start a family tree and leave a legacy throughout history by planning political marriages and expanding their line while dealing with their own mortality. With the addition of theDynastiesexpansion, allleaders inTotal War: Pharaohcan permanently die, whether on the battlefield, through assassinations, or by old age.

Creative Assembly has pointed out that this is the final planned content forTotal War: Pharaoh, at least in terms of significant additions. Updates to address bugs and other issues will continue to be released sporadically going forward.
