It is still a mystery howYuji can affect the souls of his opponents, however, it is exactly through this ability of soul capture that he was able to attack even Mahito and hit his soul directly.
Furthermore, in the battle against Sukuna, the King of Curses believed that Yuji had the power of soul capture and that he could essentially rip him from the body of Megumi Fushiguro using his powers. A lot needs to be explained about how Yuji uses the power to affect and alter souls, however, fans can only hope that in due time, the author can give a proper explanation.

Fumihiko Takaba is an individual that not many would have expected to have the power to affect souls. Essentially, his technique,Comedian, allows him to turn anything into reality that he thinks is funny. Of course, the effective reality doesn’t just affect him but also his enemies. In his fight against Kenjaku, the latter quickly realized that his true ability was soul resonance.
He did not just affect the reality for himself but also for his enemies and while it is unknown how exactly he did it, he was able to directly affect Kenjaku’s very own soul. This was reflected in his behavior changing towards Takaba, and acknowledging him as a proper fighter towards the end.
3Nobara
Yet another individual with the power to directly affect the soul is none other than Nobara. She was quite a powerful fighter and whenshe was up against Mahito, it didn’t take him long to realize that she, just like Yuji, was his natural-born enemy, simply because she could directly affect his soul using the power of Resonance.
When Nobara uses the extension technique of a Straw Doll cursed technique, she can use resonance to attack the souls of her enemies. By establishing a link, Nobara can hit the souls and damage them greatly without even causing any external damage.
2Kenjaku

Kenjaku Is one of the most powerful individuals in the world ofJJKand he was certainly a very efficient villain. Kenjaku had many plans up his sleeve andtowards the end of Shibuya, he put another one in action when he absorbed Mahito, who was greatly weakened by Yuji and Todo. Once Mahito was on his knees, Kenjaku absorbed him and gained power to utilize Idle Transfiguration. This is the greatest soul manipulating power in the world of JJK as it does not really have any restrictions.
Kenjaku could freely manipulate the souls of anyone with this power, essentially either killing them or transfiguring them into something else. At the end of Shibuya, he used the power of remote Idle Transfiguration to grant curse techniques to many individuals by altering their souls somehow.

By far, the strongest user of soul manipulating powers in the world ofJJKisnone other than Mahito himself.As a special grade curse, it was no surprise for the fans to know that Mahito was incredibly overpowered. His ability, Idle Transfiguration, remains to be one of the strongest inJJK. Essentially, with the power of Idle Transfiguration, he could affect the souls directly.
With a single touch of his palm, he could completely destroy the souls of his enemies, or reshape them and turn his enemies into grotesque creatures. He could essentially do anything with the souls of his enemies and completely deform or destroy them. The power of his soul manipulation was taken one step further when he tapped into his domain expansion. Once inside the domain, he did not even need direct contact with his enemies to affect their souls. Essentially, as a sure-hit effect of his domain expansion, his enemy was basically dead whenever he utilized this dangerous ability. Undoubtedly, Mahito was the greatest user of soul manipulation powers inJJK.
