Since its beginnings, the game has managed to keep a solid player base, and special events and raids have kept many fans coming back for more.

January Features Three Major Pokemon

In addition to the other greatevents planned forPokemon GOthis month, three major Pokemon introduced in Generation 5 will be making an appearance in the game. The three Pokemon in question, Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus, were all originally introduced inPokemon BlackandPokemon Whiteand will be featured in upcoming January raids in their Therian Forme.

Tornadus

It’s been over a year sinceTornadus was part of aPokemon GOraid, but players will get a chance at battling the Pokemon starting January 10. The raid is scheduled to go live at 6 PM local time and ends on January 17 at 7 PM. Each of the three Pokemon are also set to have Featured Attacks, with Tornadus' attack being Bleakwind Storm.

Thundurus

The second Pokemon set to make an appearance is Thundurus whose Featured Attack will be Wildbolt Storm. This raid will begin on January 17 at 6 PM local time and end on January 24 at 7 PM. Althoughtimed events inPokemon GOcan be divisive among fans, they can also add a fun layer of urgency for some players. Players may only have a week to catch these Pokemon, but it makes sense when they’re so rare.

Landorus

The third and final Pokemon to be featured in the Forces of Nature gang is Landorus. The Featured Attack in question for this particular Pokemon will be Sandsear Storm, and players will get the opportunity to collect thisspecial Pokemon inPokemon GObeginning January 24 at 6 PM local time until January 31 at 7 PM.

Featuring three Pokemon from the Forces of Nature is setting upPokemon GOto start the year off strong. As one of the biggest franchises in the world,Pokemonhas taken pop culture by storm, andPokemon GOis a great example of just how far the series has come since the 90s.
