Quite a few eyebrows were raised when it became clear thatMortal Kombat 1would be receivingpremium seasonal fatalities. Those eyebrows were raised even higher when it was revealed that they’d be priced at a rather ridiculous 1,200 Dragon Krystals, which works out to be just shy of ten dollars at the time of writing.
However, for die-hard fans ofMortal Kombat 1, the appeal of a new fatality may still prove to be tempting even in spite of the questionable pricing. For those on the fence or anyone just curious about what the Happy Halloween fatality looks like, the following guide should prove to be pretty helpful.

Happy Halloween is based on an oldScorpion fatalityand can be performed by holding the block button and then pressing up twice. If done successfully, the playable Kombatant will slam a pumpkin full of creepy crawlies onto their opponent’s head. After having their flesh feasted upon for a few seconds, the loser will fall to their knees, at which point, the playable character will kick their head clean off of their shoulders. Both the head and the pumpkin will then smash into the front door of a house with a bunch of Halloween decorations outside. The house number is 1992, which was the year that the very firstMortal Kombatgamewas released.
Is the Happy Halloween Fatality Worth the Cost?
At the time of its release, the Happy Halloween fatality is priced at 1,200 Dragon Krystals. This works out to be just shy of $10, which most players will likely find to be far too steep given what’s on offer here. This pricing seems all the more ridiculous given thatKombat Pack 1 is available for $40and offers players six new playable Kombatants and five new Kameo fighters, who, between them, will presumably offer 17 new fatalities.
That said, for those who have Dragon Krystals left over from playing through Invasions mode orpurchasing the premium edition ofMortal Kombat 1, the Happy Halloween fatality may not be such a bad investment. Granted, it’s ridiculously overpriced for what it is, but given that the alternative right now is to purchase cosmetic items or hold onto those Dragon Krystals for a little longer, having another brutal way to murder one’s enemies may well prove to be the best option for some players.
