One of the reservations fans had inLEGO Fortnitewas how difficult it was to manage things in dimly lit areas, and it seems likeLEGO Fortnite’s v29.10 Update has introduced an interesting item to solve the problem.
While the Torch is a really useful item when players are exploring dark areas, it does end up occupying one hand at all times. There is an option to switch between items, but it can be a hassle at times. Thankfully, the Illuminator is here to solve a myriad of these problems, improving visibility without taking up crucial space.

How To Unlock The Illuminator
Before players can craft the Illuminator, there are a few requirements to unlock it. Precisely, theCrafting Bench needs to be upgraded to the Rare level. Once that’s done, the other thing is toget those LEGO hands on a Purple Thermal Fish. For that, having aFishing Rodis a requirement, which can be easily obtained using a Crafting Bench.
With the Fishing Rod at their disposal, players can then head to the harsh Desert Biome or the Grasslands Biome, and look for areas to fish there. It might take a while, but eventually, players should be able to get their hands on the Purple Thermal Fish.Having the Purple Thermal Fish in the inventory should automatically unlock the recipe for the Illuminator, which can then be crafted using the Crafting Bench.

How To Craft The Illuminator
The Illuminator is an extremely useful item, so players will require quite a few resources to craft it. Here is the Illuminator Recipe:
Illuminator
Wool can be obtained from sheep, and then used in the Spinning Wheel to get Wool Thread.Glass can be obtained by putting Sand and Brightcore in a Metal Smelter. Last but not least,Brightcore can be found in the various Lava Caves. Once players have these items, all they need to do isuse the Rare Crafting Bench, and the Illuminator should be added to their inventory.
How To Use The Illuminator
The best part about an Illuminator is that it doesn’t get depleted or anything, and once players have it equipped it should continue to shine as long as it’s in the Charms slot. It should be noted that the Torch is still a superior item by far. The Illuminator has much less range and is dimmer, and it cannot keep players warm, unlike the Torch. That being said, it still does have utility considering it frees up the user’s hand allowing them to equip other items.
