Dreams,the new game creation platform from developers Media Molecule, recently released on PlayStation 4. Following in the footsteps of Media Molecule’sLittle Big Planetseries,Dreamsis as much a creative tool as a game, allowing players to build their own adventures from the ground up and share them with the community.
Although it’s only been a few days sinceDreamswas released, players have already created their own stealth games and action games, and they have even used the toolset to make impressive recreations, including one that reimagines thestairs scene fromJoker. Before players can create, though, they must first master theDreamssystem. Thankfully, there are premade example scenes and quests to help players get their head around the concepts, one of which is the Ancient Temple scene.

Building a Dream
To begin the Ancient Temple quest, players must first play its example scene from the Imp Quest menu. From there, they should proceed to make their own Ancient Temple scene through the Imp Quest menu, andDreamsoffers excellent guidanceon how to do exactly that. Once players reach the point where the Next Step arrow becomes grayed out, they should then press the highlighted search button, then press Next Step, and then enter the Ancient Temple Kit collection and place Kumi in the level.
Next, players should test theirDreamscreationby pressing Options and entering Play Mode. After this is done, fans should head back to Edit Mode, then press Next Step one last time, and then open Options and Save.
Making it Real
Once the scene is saved, it’s time to release it as a playable Dream to be placed alongside the likes of an impressiveFallout 4recreationand beyond. This is done through the Imp Quest menu, and while the game will guide players through the process, they should make sure to change the tab from collection to Dream. Additionally, players can select unlisted on the publishing screen before finishing if they do not want their creation to be public.
Once the Dream is published, players should head back to the Ancient Temple Imp Quest page and find another player’s Dream. These are organised under the “Other dreamers made these…” header, and commenting on any one of them will complete the quest. As a bonus, the quest also unlocks the element Kitsu for PlayStation 4 players to use, and hopefully aDreamsPC portwill eventually allow PC owners to do the exact same thing.
