Fire Emblem Engageis set to launch for the Nintendo Switch this week, making thetactical RPGthe first major first-party release for the house of Mario in 2023, followed byKirby’s Return To Dream Land Deluxein February andZelda: Tears of the Kingdomin May.

While some might expectFire Emblem Engageto be similar to 2019’s well-reviewed Fire Emblem: Three Houses, that’s not entirely the case.Engageseems to ditch the deep relationship building thatThree Housesnearly perfected and focuses on the combat this time. Many reviewers ofFire Emblem Engagehave even called out the story, calling it mediocre and somewhat predictable compared toThree Houses' compelling storylines. As a matter of fact,Engageonly follows one main story route, with player choices gone entirely.

With everythingEngageoffers, players will probably take about 40-50 hours to roll credits and can spend close to 100 hours (or more) doing everything.

There are also multiple difficulty modes inFire Emblem Engage, so if someone chooses the hardest one and also goes with Permadeath mode turned on, expect them to take even longer to finish the story. It takes time to form a plan on the battlefield to make sure no comrades die in action.
