Fire Trailblazer is one of the alternative paths and elemental forms of the main character inHonkai: Star Rail. Players canunlock Fire Trailblazerby progressing through the story quest in Jarilo-VI. Compared to the Physical Trailblazer, Fire Trailblazer is popular among players, particularly in the early game, due to its defensive support capabilities. As a Preservation path character, Fire Trailblazer can generate AoE shields for the entire team and possesses a unique taunt ability not found in other characters' kits.

Therefore, light cones that provide additional benefits when Fire Trailblazer is attacked can greatly enhance its effectiveness. These suitable light cones are often preferred by other Preservation characters such as Gepard or March 7th, as they also scale with DEF, allowing players to efficiently swap between defensive characters inHonkai: Star Railwhile conserving resources.
5Amber
Amber is an excellent 3-star light cone option for Fire Trailblazer. It provides an unconditional DEF increase that greatly enhances the effectiveness of their kit. Additionally, as it is easier for Fire Trailblazer to drop below 50% HP due to their ability to taunt enemies, making it more consistent to activate Amber’s secondary effect, especially in tough battles. This allows Fire Trailblazer to gain a significant amount of additional DEF, especially when Amber is superimposed. Obtaining Amber is not particularly difficult considering its rarity, making it an excellent free-to-play option for players whoprefer a fully free-to-play gameplayexperience without relying heavily on higher rarity light cones.
4This Is Me!

Unlike Amber, This Is Me! Is not a free-to-play-friendly option as it can only be obtained bypurchasing Nameless Gloryand reaching level 30 to obtain one of the options. However, This Is Me! It can be a favorable choice if players do not require other options like Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds, as it greatly enhances the defensive and offensive utility of Fire Trailblazer. While it provides a lower DEF increase compared to other light cone options, Fire Trailblazer can still benefit from increased DEF and deal higher damage by boosting their Ultimate’s potential based on DEF. This becomes particularly useful in handling multiple mobs with an AoE attack and maintaining a defensive stance, which can be particularly valuable in the later Forgotten Hall levels.
3Landau’s Choice

While Landau’s Choice does not provide an additional DEF stat bonus to Fire Trailblazer, players who have been fortunate enough to optimize their build with sufficient DEF stat may benefit from the additional tanking utility it offers. As Fire Trailblazer already possesses a taunt, the first part of the effect may not hold much significance in most cases, but the damage reduction can still prove highly advantageous by enhancing Fire Trailblazer’s tankiness. On the other hand, if players intend to utilize Gepard and Fire Trailblazer in different sides within Forgotten Hall, for instance, this light cone may be better suited for Gepard as it aligns more closely with his kit, while Fire Trailblazer has other options to choose from..
2Day One of My New Life
Day One of My New Life is another excellent 4-star light cone that is perfectly suited for Fire Trailblazer. Not only does it increase Fire Trailblazer’s DEF stat, making them tankier and providing stronger shields for allies, but it also enhances the team’s overall defensive capabilities by increasing their damage resistance. This light cone is especially valuable in the early game or for players who have not yet fully upgraded their Fire Trailblazer and cannot rely solely on their DEF stat or additional DPS potential due to being under-leveled or under-geared.
1Moment of Victory
While Texture of Memories, a free 5-star light cone obtained by clearing Simulated Universe andexchanging Herta Bonds, may not fully benefit Fire Trailblazer, players can still take advantage of another 5-star light cone that can beobtained through gacha or by exchanging600 Undying Starlight in the shop. Moment of Victory, typically known as Gepard’s signature light cone, is also beneficial for Fire Trailblazer due to the significant DEF it provides both unconditionally and when they are attacked. With the taunt ability as well as the increased chance of being attacked provided by this light cone, activating this second effect is highly consistent. This makes Moment of Victory the most optimal choice for Fire Trailblazer. Additionally,the Effect Hit Rate bonushelps Fire Trailblazer apply the Burn effect more easily on a large scale, making it a highly viable option, especially in teams that focus on Burn damage, such as thoseutilizing Hook and Himeko.
