Honkai: Star Railwas a massive hitwhen it was released back in April, mostly due to the popularity that HoYoVerse gained after building a strong player base forGenshin Impact. Not only was the title able to get some rave reviews online, but also surpassed over 20 million downloads in a single day after its official release. Now, the developers are working hard to keep the community engaged with more updates.

HoYoVerse announced today that the 1.3 update forHonkai: Star Railwill be out on August 30. The announcement, which was officially made during the Celestial Eyes Above Mortal Ruins special program, also revealed that players will gain access to three new characters: Fu Xuan, Dan Heng - Imbibitor Lunae, and Lynx. Fu Xuan will be a Quantum-type five-star character from the Preservation path, whileLynx is a four-star supportive healerwith Quantum-type. Finally, there’s the five-star Dan Heng - Imbibitor Lunae, who uses Imaginary-type powers and was previously featured during a specific Trailblaze Mission as a story character but will be available normally soon.
New characters are not everything that the 1.3Honkai: Star Railupdate will bring to the table, though. According to the developers, the new expansion will also open a new map for players to explore, the Aurum Alley. Also, the roguelike mode Simulated Universe will be upgraded with the introduction of The Swarm Disaster, a new story that will focus on the conflict between Tayzzyronth and other Aeons.
Despite the 1.3 update not being out yet, HoYoVerse is already hyping future expansions. A few days ago, for instance,Honkai: Star Railrevealed the five-star character Topaz. The new character uses the Fire element and works as the Senior Manager of the Strategic Investment Department at the Interastral Peace Corporation in the game’s story. Topaz does not have a specific date for release, though, and is believed to be available only when Version 1.4 is out. If this happens, it’s very unlikely that players will be able to get her before October or November, depending on when the new update will be out.
Honkai: Star Railis available now for Android, iOS, and PC. A PlayStation 5 version launches in Q4 2023.
