Hogwarts Legacyallows players to experience a never-before-seen version of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.Set in the 1800s, players are given control of a young fifth-year student during their time at the famed wizarding school, and though they must complete a great deal of school work while there, they must also stop a sinister evil from taking over.

Shortly into the main story ofHogwarts Legacy, players will be given the chance to explore the world outside the castle. There, they can find all manner of things that can only be found outside the castle’s walls, but some items, like Lacewing Flies, are harder to locate than others.
What Are Lacewing Flies?
InHogwarts Legacy, Lacewing Flies serve aspotion-making ingredientsand should be collected as often as possible. While interacting with a Potions Station in either the Room of Requirement or Professor Sharp’s classroom, players can combine Fluxweed Stems, Dugbog Tongues, and Lacewing Flies to create aFocus Potion, a handy drink that can be used to reduce the drinker’s spell cooldowns.

Lacewing Flies and Fluxweed Stems can also be used tocreate Felix Felicis potions, unique concoctions that enhance a player’s luck. When ingested, Felix Felicis will reveal the locations of large loot chests for one entire in-game day, making it much easier for players to locate treasure.
Where To Buy Lacewing Flies
Upon leaving for Hogsmeade during the early hours ofHogwarts Legacy, players will be permitted to browse an array of interesting stores. Those who wish to prioritize potion-making will likely want to visitJ. Pippin’s Potionslocated in the western region of the village. Upon interacting with J. Pippins himself, the player will then be given the chance to browse his wares and purchase whatever ingredients he has for sale.
Players struggling to locate Lacewing Flies in the world ofHogwarts Legacycan simply venture to this store if they are willing to buy some. Here, they can purchase up to five Lacewing Flies forone-hundred Galleons each. While this might seem like a pretty reliable way of securing Lacewing Flies, J. Pippins willrun out of stockonce they have been bought from him, so players might need to look elsewhere if they want to obtain more.
Lacewing Flies Locations
According to the description of Lacewing Flies in the Resources menu, they can most often befound in open fields. In the wilderness, the player will know they have found someif they cast Revelio. Doing so will highlight any nearby bushes that contain Lacewing Flies, but it’s easier to search for them at night, as the glow they exude is much more noticeable while it’s dark out.
The best way to find Lacewing Flies while exploring the Highlands is for the player tomount their broomand slowly fly over grassy regions whilecasting Revelio. So long as the player is close enough to the ground, they should be able to locate a large sum before too long. Lacewing Flies can usually be found in sets, so if the player manages to locate one bush, they will likely find a few more close by.
Hogwarts Legacyis available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. PS4 and Xbox One versions will release on April 4 and a Switch version will release on July 25.
