Hogwarts Legacy’s launch was not without its issues, as some users ran into all sorts of bugs and glitches in the game. As an example, oneHogwarts Legacybug turned the main character invisible, making it seem like the user is playing as Highwing instead. Now, another visual glitch inHogwarts Legacymakes the character look as bright as the sun.

A Reddit user named OrionFOTL has shared an image fromHogwarts Legacywith this bug, and fans can immediately spot that there is something wrong with the way the main character looks. As seen in the picture, the player is shining with almost blinding light, making it impossible to see their facial features or clothes.Hogwarts Legacyallows players to fully customize the main character, but that feature has been rendered pretty much useless as a result of this bug.
Many users in the comments make references to the Lumos Maxima incantation, with one fan stating that this image is the result of casting Lumos with a broken wand. OrionFOTL refutes this claim, before sharing a picture of what their character looks like under normal lighting conditions. Additionally, OrionFOTL confirms that they areplayingHogwarts Legacywith a few mods installed, which could have triggered this bug.
One gamer in the comments section speculates that ray tracing could have something to do with the bug, claiming that therecentHogwarts Legacyupdatebroke the ray tracing features of the game. Some users also jokingly state that it’s a side effect of playing with ray tracing on ultra settings, although a few fans mention that setting ray tracing to anything below the maximum can cause issues with the visuals.
The PS5 and Xbox Series X editions ofHogwarts Legacyalso come with support for ray tracing, but users cannot change its level. The console versions do feature a bunch of graphical modes for players to choose from, such as support for 60 FPS gameplay, and the ability to runHogwarts Legacywithout a frame rate cap.
Hogwarts Legacyis available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with PS4 and Xbox One versions launching May 5 and a Switch port releasing July 25.
