One of the defining characteristics ofElden Ringis how it more openly embraces co-op when compared to previous FromSoftware games.Elden Ring’s co-op still has some restrictions, but players are actually able to play through the bulk of the game together if they choose to do so. Generally speaking though, it seems mostElden Ringplayers instead pop into each other’s worlds to help with bosses or lead their friends through tough areas.

Other times,Elden Ringco-op partnersmay not be quite as helpful. In a clip that’s quickly going viral on theElden Ringsubreddit, user Rahl2002 showed what happened when they trolled their dad in the game. In the clip, which is from Rahl2002’s dad’s point of view, the dad is looting a room at the top of a tower. Rahl2002 uses this opportunity to sit in front of the door, blocking their dad in the room.

Rahl2002’s dad makes multiple attempts at jumping over his child, to no avail. Rahl2002’s dad then decides to get a running start, but just as he jumps through the air, Rahl2002 gets up and moves out of the way. The momentum from the jump carries Rahl2002’s dad through the door and off the top of the tower to his death on the ground below.

It seems many members of theElden Ringcommunityare getting a kick out of this troll. With over 8,000 upvotes at the time of this writing, it’s much better-received than other ways thatElden Ringplayers have trolled people in the game.

One of the more annoyingElden Ringtrolls is when players purposefully write messages near important things likeSites of Grace, levers, or ladders. There are many times whenElden Ringplayers find themselves running from enemies and have to quickly interact with something, only for them to accidentally click on a message instead. In contrast, thisElden Ringtrollis fairly lighthearted and while Rahl2002’s dad joked that he would be disowned, it should have been a pretty easy trek back to his lost runes.

Elden Ring’s unique gameplay mechanics and massive open world allow for a lot of creativity, so it’s likely that dedicated players will think of even more creative ways to mess with their fellow Tarnished. And if developer FromSoftware ever releases anElden RingDLC expansion, as rumored, perhaps the new content int introduces will open the door for even more opportunities.

Elden Ringis out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
