Between planting crops, mining, foraging, and collecting gifts for the townsfolk, players have several different reasons to fill their inventory. This is especially notable during the earliest phases of the game before they have any backpack upgrades. That’s why players need to quickly learn to build chests to have a place to keep their excess items. Chests do require 50 wood to build, but their storage capabilities make it a near-necessity for players to build a few over the course of the game.

Haunted Chocolatier Could Make Chests Accessible From Anywhere
Stardew Valley’s chests were useful, but they had oneissue thatHaunted Chocolatiershouldn’t repeat. Players could only access chests that were right next to them. This could be particularly frustrating when players were on a run in the mines, and could no longer collect items, or ran out of inventory while fishing. Haunted Chocolatiereven has a perfect reason to justify giving players this ability. Theghosts ofHaunted Chocolatiercould potentially do more than maintain the shop. The ability to transfer items in the field could be explained as the player giving these items to a ghost in order to send them back home. This could work the opposite way as well, with the ghost also able to bring items from storage to the player.Stardew Valleydidn’t have this feature, possibly due to its more grounded approach. However,Haunted Chocolatiercould use its more supernatural theme to make organizing items more convenient.
Haunted Chocolatiercould give its chests a big upgrade by making them accessible from anywhere. It would be abig change forHaunted Chocolatiermechanically, but it would be a purely positive one. It would take away a frustration that could get in the way on a regular basis for players inStardew Valley. Not to mention,Haunted Chocolatierhas a perfect explanation for letting the player access chests from anywhere, so it would make perfect sense. A small change to how chests work could be a big boost forHaunted Chocolatier.
