Summary
Harry Potterfans all over the world must have already watched all 8 movies, but it’s difficult to say that all of them have read the books. While both the movies and books are thoroughly enjoyable, it is undeniable that the movie franchise of Harry Potter is more accessible in the digital age where the movies are marketed on reachable everyday outlets like TV.
Oftentimes, especially during Christmas times,Harry Pottermovies are broadcast to lift the holiday spirit. Nonetheless, Harry Potter fans are still Harry Potter fans. Whether they only read books or watch the movies, theHarry Potterseries is a safe space for everyone to enjoy their favorite characters living their lives in the Wizarding World. However, some things are not depicted in the movie because of time constraints and artistic choice and only exist in the books.

7Peeves' Mischief
The Annoying Lovable Spirit
Peeves is a character that has never been depicted in any official release of the Harry Potter movie franchise. This mischievous, indestructible poltergeist has been residing in Hogwarts since the famous school built in the 900s.
As a prankster, he has caused a lot of chaos within the school, picking on anyone that he sets his eyes on, especiallyhis archnemesis, Argus Filch. During Dolores Umbridge’s “reign” at Hogwarts, he teamed up with the Weasley Twins to wreak havoc during those severely restricted and traumatic times. Although he was a prankster, his love towards Hogwarts is undeniable, as he joined to defeat the Dark Lord and his army of Death Eaters.

6Winky’s Depression
The Loyal But Depressed House-Elf
Winky is such an underrated character, and her lack of depiction in the movie is honestly a shame. As the house-elf of the Crouch, she and her family have been serving the family from generation to generation. She is a loyal elf who always follows the family’s order, even when Barty Crouch Sr brought his convicted Death Eater son back home and was replaced by his terminally ill wife.
When Barty Crouch Jr broke freefrom the Imperius curseput upon him by his father, leading up to the chaos during the Quidditch World Cup in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Winky was fired from her job and was severely depressed afterward. This event led Hermione to start an organization called the Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare (S.P.E.W.).

5Dobby, Kreacher, and Winky’s Job
House-Elves In Hogwarts Kitchen
At some point in the Harry Potter universe, Dobby, Kreacher, and Winky either lost their jobs or werefreed from their positions. In Dobby’s case, he was beyond grateful to a free house-elf. However, Kreacher and Winky, were not happy when they had to let go of their professions. Dobby, who was the most proud of all, got a job in Hogwarts as a kitchen helper, with salary and day-offs.
He was also a very proud member of S.P.E.W. However, Kreacher and Winky were not as happy as Dobby, as they were still holding on to their traditional values as house-elves. Nonetheless, they were very happy to still have a job and purpose in their lives, especially to work in a great place.

4The House-Elves Side Job
Dobby And Kreacher As Spies For The Trio
During Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Draco Malfoy became extremely sick-looking, anxious, and always pale. This sparked curiosity in Harry Potter as he could sense suspicious activities that Draco might have been doing. To prove his theory about Draco’s suspicious activity, Harry tells Dobby and Kreacher to tail Draco and report back to him for any activities that could be evidence of this.
This is also the event where Dobby deliberately punches Kreacher in the face afterKreacher is being his usual nasty selfby insulting and bad-mouthing Harry Potter. Dobby always considered Harry Potter a good friend of his, so Kreacher’s insults were not taken very well by him.

3Ginny and Harry’s Relationship
Ginny’s Romantic Timeline with Harry
In the movies, although Ginny Weasley’s character was quite prominent during Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, in the next movies, her character seemed to have fizzled out. It is such a shame, especially since later on, Ginny has become such an important character in Harry’s life.
She grew from being a little fangirl of Harry Potter into astrong, confident, skillful, and playful character who successfully made Harry fall in love with her. Understandably, the movie focused on other things due to time constraints, but the lack of character development of Ginny in the movies has undeniably made the movie’s fans confused, as to why Harry ended up with Ginny at the end of the series.

2Draco Malfoy’s Crimes
The Use of the Forbidden Curse
During Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince, Draco Malfoy was tasked by the Dark Lord himself to murder Albus Dumbledore. It had left Draco to be extremely anxious and distressed. In one of his attempts to take on Dumbledore’s life, he put Madam Rosmerta under the Imperius Curse to help provide him with hexed items, such as the Cursed Necklace.
He then put Katie Bell in danger as she was also cursed to deliver the necklace to Dumbledore. Not only that, he was also the one who was supposed to cast the killing curse on Dumbledore, despite his failure. Although depicted in the movie, it wasn’t explored further how the necklace made its way to Katie Bell, and how Madam Rosmerta was indirectly involved.

1Dumbledore Fights Ministry Officials
The Legendary Fight Before His Arrest
InHarry Potter and the Order of The Phoenix, there was a lot of heat coming from the Ministry of Magic against Albus Dumbledore and Harry Potter. Cornelius Fudge, who would rather believe that Dumbledore was after his position than believe that Lord Voldemort was back, attempted to arrest Dumbledore for conspiracy.
In the movie, he does not put up a big fight and simply escapes. However,in the book, Dumbledore stood his ground and fought off the Ministry officials by himself before escaping. When the misunderstanding cleared up and Dumbledore was proven innocent, he accepted the Ministry’s apology and joked that he was fine, as long as he would not be removed from the Chocolate Frog Cards. Dumbledore’s got style indeed.
