Between now and Monday, customers get a free download ofDeadlight: Directors Cutwith the purchase of any other game published by Deep Silver. Granted, “free with purchase” isn’t exactly the same as “free,” but with classic tiles for less the five bucks, it’s definitely a good deal. Anyone who already owns a Deep Silver game through GOG can still downloadDeadlight: Director’s Cutabsolutely free. So, customers will get the same fantastic deal whether they boughtIron Harvestlast year or this weekend.

This extra incentive is on top ofGOG’s Deep Silver weekend publisher’s sale, which began Friday. And there are some truly spectacular deals for gamers who act fast. The aforementionedIron Harvestis currently 30 percent off. Meanwhile, shooter fans can buy the entireRed Factionseries for $14 total. That includes theRe-Mars-terededition ofRed Faction: Guerrillafor only $4. Other deals includeMetro 2033: Reduxfor $3.99,Painkiller: Black Editionfor $2,Saints Row: The Third – The Full Packagefor $3, andSaints Row IV: Game of the Century Editionfor only $4.
That’s a lot of great games for less than the price of a typical cafe-bought cup of coffee. Other titles on sale includeMetro: Exodus, post-apocalyptic turn-based strategy gameWasteland 3, and open-world survival RPGOutward.
These would be pretty good deals even if the purchase didn’t come with a free copy of the 2016Deadlight: Director’s Cut. For anyone who missed out the first time, Tequila Works’Deadlightis a fairly unique indie horror game. It stood out from the glut of late 2000s zombie games by being a moody 2D platformer instead of a high-octane shooter. Granted, “moody 2D platformer” became the standard for indie games after a while, but it remains a memorable title.
Deadlightmay not have aged as gracefullyas the developer might hope. Still, this sale offers an excellent opportunity for gamers to decide for themselves. That’s especially true since it’s entirely free for anyone who already purchased a Deep Silver title on Good Old Games. And considering the size of the studio’s catalog, that is not too hard to do.
The sale began Friday, March 19th, and ends at 2 PM UTC on Monday, March 22nd. That means gamers only have a limited time to take advantage of these great deals and receive their free game.
