Summary
InGod of War, it is impossible to guarantee the safety of a character. They could be a god of Olympus one minute ago, and in the next, they could have their heads torn by a vengeful Spartan. Many of the characters that Kratos killed on his journey deserved it, but some of them were just collateral damage.
Even the characters who were killed by Kratos had cool powers and interesting backstories. Sadly, they were slaughtered before gamers could get the chance to learn more about them. With that in mind, here are all theGod of Warcharacters who should have been explored more before they were killed.

Pandora was a pivotal figure inGod of War 3. Athena guided Kratos to Pandora’s location, as she wanted the young girl to be sacrificed to bring an end to Zeus' rule as the king of Olympus and to fulfill her own personal desires. However, after traveling with Pandora for a while, Kratos regained a part of himself, and it reminded him of Calliope.
When the time came to sacrifice Pandora, Kratos was unwilling to do so. He tried his level best to stop Zeus without letting Pandora die. Needless to say, fans wouldn’t have been disappointed if they saw more exchanges between Kratos and Pandora.

5Hercules
Hercules was thehalf-brother of Kratos, and he didn’t make his debut in the story untilGod of War 3. He was selected as one of the many fighters who had to stop Kratos from reaching Zeus and killing him. Kratos and Hercules have a similar backstory, and technically, they should have been on the same side.
However, developers had other things in mind. Considering Hercules is arguably the greatest hero in Greek mythology, it was rather underwhelming to have no build-up to his fight or at least some kind of interaction between the two brothers.

Athena was one ofthe primary allies of Kratos during his adventure in Greece. She was extremely smart and blessed with the power of foresight, which is why she always made decisions that were beneficial to the entire world. Athena was also a goddess of War, but that particular aspect of words was not properly explored in the game.
If Saint Monica Studio had delved into this particular quality of Athena, it would have made things more interesting. She could have even helped Kratos at one point or another with her physical strength. Unfortunately, Athena was accidentally killed by the Spartan with the Blade of Olympus that was meant for her father.

Thor and Kratos were similar in more ways than one. Both of them were chosen by their fathers to do their bidding without asking any questions.Odin filled Thor’s mindwith the wrong ideas about giants and sent him on a killing spree that wiped out almost the entire race. To escape from his mental burdens, Thor drank himself blind, hoping that it would ease his pain.
He appeared as one of the major bosses inGod of War Ragnarok, but towards the end of the game, he realized that there was room for change. Unfortunately, it was already too late, and Odin did not like that his mindless killing machine had developed a conscience. So he killed Thor and ruined one of the better characters in the game.

Hades was the god of the Underworld. He was an Olympian, but he did not care much about the mortal realm. He was content in the underworld while living with his wife, Persephone. Hades assisted Kratos in his journey initially, but when the Spartan’s rage threatened Mount Olympus itself, the king of the Underworld couldn’t stand idly by.
Hades had a very cool design, which gave him a rather menacing appearance. Often considered a ruthless killer, Hades actually loved his wife a lot. Even the chill of the underworld wasn’t powerful enough to douse his fiery love for Persephone. Despite her treachery, Hades built a massive memorial for Persephone. He was also angry that Kratos killed his niece, Athena, and his brother, Poseidon. While he may have been a villain, Hades had a lot of potential as a character.

Deimos was a victim of fate, as he was cruelly taken away from his brother and mother when he was just a kid. He lived away from his family in the domain of death, where he was tortured by Thanatos. His torment continued until Kratos began to seek him out. During their initial meeting, Demos was overcome by hatred toward his brother, causing him to attack. However, after a while, the two reconciled and fought Thanatos together.
Deimos was a talented fighter in his own right. InGod of War Ghost Of Sparta, Deimos proved his skill as he overpowered his brother in combat, although the latter was holding back. Kratos and Deimos fought against Thanatos together. Despite not having seen each other in years, they were in great tandem with each other. Sadly, Deimos was killed by Thanatos. Considering he was one of the few characters who had no problem fighting a god, he would have been an extremely valuable ally in the series.
