Genshin Impactfans have noticed an interesting detail about the brand-new Dendro character Alhaitham. This five-star sword user is currently available on the Limited Character Banner alongside the Anemo user Xiao. The first part of version 3.4 also features a new four-star character named Yaoyao which means that players can get both new characters by wishing on the same banner.
At the moment, there are only five weapon types inGenshin Impact: sword, claymore, polearm, catalyst, and bow. Each of these types has a different kind of playstyle that requires players to either engage in close combat or keep their distance. The game’s playable units can also be divided into three categories based on the size of their character model.

At the moment, there are only three sword characters inGenshin Impactthat have a tall male model type: Kaeya, Ayato, andthe recently released Alhaitham. Reddit user x0Xero0x has pointed out that, unlike Ayato and Kaeya, the new Dendro character carries his sword on the left side of his back. HoYoverse has not given any official explanation about Alhaitham’s sword position, but many fans suspect that it could be related to the fact that during his Normal Attack sequence, the Dendro user creates an additional elemental sword.
This small detail got a lot of attention in the community with the post reaching 4.2k upvotes with some fans claiming that the fact that Alhaitham is different from any other character in the roster fits his personality. He is a member of the Haravatat in Sumeru Akademiya, who is responsible for documenting their findings. At the moment,Alhaitham is probably the best Dendro DPS characterinGenshin Impactwhich makes him a valuable asset for team comps that rely on this element.
Despite his popularity, recent revenue reports have revealed thata lot of players skipped the current Alhaitham and Xiao double banner. The main reason is probably that many fans probably already spent most of their Primogems on previous banners which were stacked with strong characters such as the new Dendro Archon Nahida, the Anemo user Wanderer, and Raiden Shogun.
Some players also want to save their Primogems for thenext banner which will feature the Pyro user Hu taowho has not been featured on a Limited Character Banner since November 2021. Players who want to add Alhaitham or Xiao to their roster have a couple of days to do so as their banner is scheduled to expire around February 7.
