Making a proper team composition inGenshin Impactcan turn a mediocre character into a powerful one, and vice versa. For instance, Kuki Shinobu is merely a healer, but in a Hyperbloom team comp, she becomes one of the best Electro triggers for the Elemental Reaction, where her Elemental Skill can heal while also turning surrounding Dendro Cores into a homing Dendro bullet.

Due to how impactful team compositions are, it’s no surprise players want to play with the most effective setup possible. Among the common team comps inGenshin Impact, here are the most meta.
8National Team
Although it now has a lot of variations, the originalNational team inGenshin Impactconsists of Xingqiu + Xiangling + Chongyun + Bennett. This all-four-star team is immensely powerful, considering their rarity. The four characters will create chaos on the battlefield with their Elemental Burst, where Chongyun typically works as the main DPS, applying Cryo while the others work with Hydro and Pyro.
However, as Chongyun is the weakest link in this team comp, he’s often replaced in the other National team variations.

7International Team
The International team doesn’t only adopt two of the National team’s units, but the name also derives from the original regions of its characters.Childe comes from Snezhnaya, Bennett hails from Mondstadt, Kazuha is the Wandering Samurai of Inazuma, and Xiangling originates from Liyue. The fact that each character comes from a different region gives theInternational teamterm.
The International team is basically a Childe Vape comp, where both he and Xiangling work as the primary damage dealer, while Kazuha and Bennett buff the DPS.

6Rational Team
Still around the National team, theRationalorRaiden National teamreplaces Chongyun with the Electro Archon, Raiden Shogun. In this team, Raiden Shogun will not only perform as a powerful sub-DPS, but also as a solution to the team’s Energy issue. Previously, players had to worry about having enough Energy Recharge to fill the team’s Burst, but with Raiden, this is no longer a problem. This means players can entirely invest in offensive stats, even in Xingqiu who’s famous for wielding theSacrificial weapon inGenshin Impact.

Although it seems like there’s no basic idea to this team (given there’s a mix of Vaporize, Electro-Charged, and Overloaded reactions all at the same time), the power of Xingqiu + Xiangling + Bennett themselves is already enough to clear the deepest floor of the Spiral Abyss, where players can use any other character as the fourth unit, and this team will still perform. Since Raiden Shogun is not just “any other character”, it’s no doubt that this team will work greatly.
5Morgana Team
Similar to the National team, theMorgana team comp inGenshin Impactalso has plenty of variations now. However, the original includes Ganyu + Mona + Venti + Diona. The idea of this permafreeze setup is that Mona applies Hydro while Venti collects and controls the enemy. Afterward, Diona and Ganyu’s Cryo will keep the enemies Frozen and incapacitated.
Diona performs as the protector, while Venti and Mona help with the team’s DPS. Mona’s Omen is particularly amazing with the Frozen team as her Omen Bubble will not pop if the enemy is Frozen, allowing Ganyu to have her damage amplified for a long time.

Unlike the National team, however, the variations for this team may not include any of the original units. For example, Ayaka + Kokomi + Kazuha + Shenhe. Basically, players can replace the Cryo DPS, Hydro enabler, Anemo support, and the healer/shielder.
4Hu Tao Vaporize
Hu Tao is one of themost powerful DPS inGenshin Impact, so it’s no surprise that her team makes it into the list of the most meta team comp. Originally, the meta comp includes Albedo, but since Yelan was released, he’s often replaced with her instead.
The performance of the two teams is quite similar though, so players can instead replace Xingqiu with Yelan on the original team if they wish to enhance the team’s performance. However, note that having Yelan as the sole Hydro character may cause her to suffer with her Energy.

3Childe Showcase
Childe was likely the firstGenshin Impactcharacter that can deal large numbers for a showcase. The original team used for Childe’s Burst damage showcase consists of Childe + Sucrose + Mona + Bennett, but Kazuha can now take Sucrose’s place thanks to his top-tier supportive value.
For this team, players need to use Sucrose/Kazuha to reduce the enemy’s Hydro RES, use Mona to apply Omen, Bennett to give ATK buff, and finally Childe to one-shot the boss using his Elemental Burst.

2Sukokomon
Sukokomon is not widely popular due to it having instability, but this name still lingers as one of the most common team comps in the game. With only Kokomi as the 5-star and the rest are accessible characters, players can easily form this setup.
RELATED:Genshin Impact: Best Team Compositions For Mika
The idea behind the Sukokomon team is that Fischl, Kokomi, and Xiangling will continuously apply their respective Elements, while Sucrose will keep Swirling the Elements, further increasing the number of reactions triggered. Sucrose is originally the Anemo driver, but players can totally use other characters now. For example, Heizou works great for this role, but players can alsohave fun with theGenshin ImpactWandererif they wish.
1Xiao Geo
Xiao has the ability to trigger Swirl easily, but since his kit revolves around plunging, it’s not easy to find a suitable teammate for that playstyle. Because of that,Xiao’s most common teaminstead revolves around Mono Anemo-Geo, with no reactions involved. In this team, Zhongli will protect Xiao from interruption, while Jean performs as the healer and Battery. Meanwhile, Albedo is simply a sub-DPS that triggers the Geo Resonance.
Unlike with the Hu Tao team where Albedo’s Burst helps with the 120 Elemental Mastery boost, it’s useless for this Xiao team as players aren’t playing with Elemental Reactions. It’s still useful if the enemy brings an Element, though!

Genshin Impactis now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
