Despite being one of the main focuses ofGenshin Impact, the game’s playable characters rarely receive new costumes. The two first skins were added during the Golden Apple Archipelago events back inGenshin Impactupdate 1.6, in which the two sisters, Jean and Barbara, received the game’s first Summer themed outfits.
Since then, the game has brought new costumes only one other time at the start of 2022 duringGenshin ImpactVersion 2.4. However, it seems like another limited five-star character might receive his first new skin. A newGenshin Impactleak reveals more details about one of the upcoming costumes for a popular Pyro claymore character.

Redditor russ_victoria has shared an interesting post on the popularGenshin ImpactLeaks subreddit revealing more details about theupcoming skin for Diluc, the Darknight Hero. Previous leaks have revealed that, unlike the other costumes, Diluc’s new skin will have a higher five-star rarity, meaning that it will introduce additional changes to his combat effects. Diluc’s Elemental Skill allows him to swing his sword three times, dealing Pyro damage in the process. The new leak compares the difference between the skins, and it seems like the flames on the new one will be slightly darker.
Fans are overall happy with the skin, especially considering thatDiluc is becoming less used with each new update, and this could increase his popularity. While the overall effects seem satisfying, multiple replies in the comment section hope that the model of Diluc’s face will see some improvements. According to them, his face is disproportionate compared with other tall male characters. His eyes are actually below the center of his face, which makes his head look much bigger than it should be.
A big part of the community claims that their decision on buying the new skin will be heavily impacted by HoYoverse’s approach to changing Diluc’s outdated model. When it comes to the price, there is still no official information, but according to multiple rumors, the new skill will cost around $40. One of the main reasons why a lot of players might avoid getting the new costume is because Diluc is part ofGenshin Impact’s Standard Banner.
This less popular banner features five different five-star characters meaning that players have a much lower chance of acquiring multiple copies of a single character in order to build up their constellation levels. Since the game’s release back in September 2020, Diluc went from being thebest DPS character inGenshin Impactto an A-tier or B-tier character.
Genshin Impactis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development with no confirmed release date.
