FortniteSeason 5 is now live in the battle royale game, giving players the chance to explore a reworked map. The newFortnitemap is similar to previous maps in the game, though this one has considerably less water than the original Chapter 2 map did. It also brings back a variant of one of the most popularFortnitelocations ever, and it will be interesting to see if it ends up beingtheplace to drop as Season 5 progresses.

TheFortniteSeason 5 map includes a new area called Salty Towers, which is essentially a combination of Salty Shores andTilted Towers. Tilted Towers is one of the most famousFortnitelocations, and so it’s safe to say many fans will be happy to see it back, even though it doesn’t look exactly like it did in the past. Besides Salty Towers, there are plenty of new locations on theFortniteSeason 5 map, along with some familiar ones as well.

Some of the other locations longtimeFortnitefans will recognize includePleasant Park, Retail Row, Weeping Woods, and a few others. It seems as though Epic Games is attempting to appeal to both old-schoolFortnitefans as well as those who prefer the bells and whistles of the newer map.

Old map locations aren’t the only thing returning as part ofFortniteSeason 5. Season 5 of the battle royale game also includes the return of some weapons that were previously stashed away in theFortnitevault. This includes the Double Barrel Shotgun, the Tactical Shotgun, Balloons, the SMG, and more. Of course, Epic Games may vault and un-vault otherFortniteweapons and gadgets as Season 5 progresses, so fans will want to keep that in mind before they get too attached to anything in the game.

Meanwhile, it seems that some of theFortniteSeason 5 leaks have turned out to be true.FortniteSeason 5 has content based onStar Wars, more specifically, based on the hitStar WarsTV seriesThe Mandalorian. Needless to say, it will be interesting to see how thisStar Warstheme ties into the ongoingFortnitestoryline, and how it may bring about the season-ending event in a few months.

The most recentFortniteseason-ending event featuredMarvel villain Galactus, who was defeated by forcing him to ingest a ton of explosive Battle Busses. Even so, Galactus caused theFortnitebattle royale map to change, and it’s quite likely that the inevitable Season 6 will bring even more changes with it.

Fortniteis out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
