Fortnitehas rolled out yet another update today, bringing with it more new content. This week’s patch, hotfix 19.40, doesn’t add too much in the way of item or weapon updates but gives the island’s birds time in the spotlight with an entire avian-themed week.

First introduced duringFortnite’s Chapter 2, Season 6 “Primal” season, chickens are a skittish species on the islandthat will run away from players once startled. Those who manage to chase one down can hold it to jump higher and fall slower, although nabbing one shouldn’t be too much of an issue this week.

How to Complete All Fortnite Avian Ambush Week Quests

According to the Avian Ambush update,Fortnite’s chickens have become kings of the ecosystem, doing away with all non-winged creatures. With chickens spawning more than ever before, players are tasked with completing a series of chicken-related quests, which include:

Given the increased spawn rate of chickens, there are many valid locations to first find a chicken at, although somewhere like justsouthwest of The Daily Buglecan provide the venue to complete several Avian Ambush quests.

Players who find a chicken near the area can head to thetop of the Bugle’s surrounding mountain, where theflying and sliding quests can easily be completed, as can thebouncing on a Web Bouncer.

The remaining portion of the quests will require either multiple matches or players to move out of the suggested area.Fortnite’s chickens will now attack players when provoked, alsoexisting as hunt-able Loot Chickens, akin to the colored crows encountered this season.

Apparently, chickens are a viable workaround in Solos for players to unlock the island’s loot-filled vaults. In terms ofFortniteChapter 3’s Vault locations, the closest one to the suggested starting area isbetween Coney Crossroads and Tilted Towers, but there are many Vaults players can choose from.

Fortnite’s Avian Ambush Week Quests will remain up until March 15 at 8:59 AM ET, meaning players have until next Tuesday to earn extra XP. Today is also International Women’s Day, whichFortniteis celebrating by changing the in-game moon design.

Fortniteis free-to-play on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
