Final Fantasy Xhas a strong lineup of playable characters. What’s more, it was the first game in the franchise to adopt the party swap mechanic. Part of the problem with big parties is that players tend to use the teams they started with. Getting someone new, especially late in a game, can be hard to care about.

Who wants to do more work in leveling up and learning someone new? WithFinal Fantasy X, the party swap mechanic helped alleviate this problem. So, it’s a good party but what if some of the other characters in the game joined the fight? As a final note, these entries will only go into the original game and not the sequel. In no particular order, here are the strongest characters in Spira.
10Jecht
Sin is the big bad of the game which turns out to be Tidus’ “old man.” This dude gets giant. Even as a human one can presume Jecht was powerful since he, Auron, and Lord Braska alone were able to defeat their version of Sin. Yuna needs a lot of guardians which is a point that keeps getting brought up in the story. The point is as a man or monster, Jecht is more than his boastful words.
9Seymour
Seymour isn’t really a name that strikes fear in the heart. It sounds more like someone’s principal. Silly names aside, Seymour is like the second big bad of the game. He also has one of the best boss songs in the game. If a killer boss song doesn’t equate to power, then see Sephiroth’s One Winged Angel to be proven wrong.
8Lord Braska
Speaking of Lord Braska, it seems crazy that a prequel was never made. It would be interesting to see aCrisis Core: Final Fantasy VIIlike game be made starring Braska, Auron, and Jecht on their journey. Square Enix had the assets already which is part of the reason whyFinal Fantasy X-2was made. Maybe one day this legendary summoner’s strength will be playable.
7Lady Yunalesca
Another powerful summoner, also not playable, is Lady Yunalesca. She was the first one to face Sin and ultimately sacrifice her body so that others beyond her years could use her power to help defeat Sin.

It gets way more complicated than that but the point is she is one of the toughest main fight in the game thanks to her zombie curse. In life and in death, Lady Yunalesca shouldn’t be trifled with.
6Cid
Cid is never really shown to be a fighter inFinal Fantasy X. However, he is powerful in other ways too like his strong will to defy the teachings of the church. His cause is noble and he’s also just a nice guy outside of that hard outer shell. On top of that he is a master mechanic with a world class airship.
Brother is another Al Bhed that doesn’t get to fight. He is seemingly a good pilot though which is great. One can’t get behind how much he loves his cousin Yuna. It’s weird, but it’s definitely a Japanese thing. There is another way Brother displays strength in thegame though: Blitzball. He is one of the best players in the game. If he’s as good in battle as he is on the court, then look out.
4Biran/Yenke Ronso
It’s hard to separate these two characters since they work as a duo throughout the game. They are bullies that eventually get put in their place after the solo fight with Kimahri. It’s a tough battle to win as Kimahri, depending on the way players build his stats, isn’t the strongest solo fighter. Kimahri’s strength aside, these two Ronso mean business.
3Dona/Barthello
Dona is also a bully throughout the game. She is one of the aforementioned people that points out how weird it is that Yuna needs so many guardians when she only needs one: Barthello.

She may be a bully and Barthello may be a silent lug head, but they are able to make it far as a duo. Shouldn’t that be proof enough?
2Isaaru
Isaaru is a more kinder rival to Yuna. He and his two brothers, Maroda and Pacce, are also able to make it far together and through peaceful means with her party. They may not get to show off much, but that is besides the point. Summoners are just OP in general inFinal Fantasy X. Although it could be argued they’d be nothing without their Aeon’s strength.
1Belgemine
Belgemine might seem like an odd choice. She’s part of an optional quest wherein Yuna can test her Summoning skills in a one on one match. These battles are awfully reminiscent of Pokémon matches. Belgemine puts up a heck of a fight too. Her true power is never truly tested but like the other Summoners on here, she is in a master class all her own.
