With the end ofFate/Grand Order’s3rd anniversary and the next summer event waiting in August, there’s only one rerun left in the way. During the past week, the revival of 2019’s Dead Heat Summer Race was off to an exciting start but got cut short moments before everyone reached the finish line. Now in the Death Jail Summer Escape rerun, it’s up to players to help save everyone and bring the race to its conclusion by August 1st.
Taking place after a literal cliffhanger ending from part 1, the summer servants now find themselves arrested and locked in prison. While Dead Heat Summer Race was anot-so-subtle JoJo referenceto Steel Ball Run, part 2 is a full-blown jailbreak as the different teams try various methods to escape and defeat the chief warden Medb. As the Summer 2 rerun’s second half, event mechanics remain the same from start to finish with minor changes.

Ishtar (Rider)
This is the last chance for masters to add a welfare Ishtar to their roster. This summer version of Ishtar is a 4-star Rider with a skill that buffs NP gain in addition to Buster and Quick cards, a self evade, and a self invincibility along with every other buff in-game. However, the main reason to use Ishtar is her AOE Quick NP which makes her great for daily QP farming. Ishtar will become permanent after completing Death Jail Summer Escape’s story, but additional challenge quests need to be completed to obtain the copies to NP5 her. Furthermore, players should make sure they have purchased the 4 Golden Reeds from Part 1’s shop that are needed to ascend Ishtar to Level 80.
Cheering Battles
Just like in Part 1, there will be 4 rounds of racing between the 6 summer teams. Player can do Cheer On quests to support their favorites meaning the winner of each round is decided by community participation. - Medb and Quetzalcoatl
Medb - 131,483 HP/132,880 HP
Quetzalcoatl - 119,873 HP/108,372 HP
Quetzalcoatl will begin the fight alongside 2 Lancer-class enemies. Medb is in the backline and won’t appear until 6 enemies are defeated. An AOE Saber is great for clearing the smaller mobs, but they can easily be killed in 1 turn by any servant. Both Quetzalcoatl and Medb are Riders so single-target Assassins like Shiki can easily break one of their HP bars. Note that Quetzalcoatl buffs all active enemies with Attack Up and Medb puts a taunt on another enemy once their first HP bars are broken. Focus on killing Quetzalcoatl before Medb comes out and focus her down afterwards. The remaining Lancers can be saved for last unless they get Medb’s taunt or are going to NP next turn.
- Gugalanna (The Bull of Heaven)
Gugalanna - 424,287 HP/594,001 HP/848,574 HP
Before fighting the Bull of Heaven, players will first battle Ishtar separately. Bring a single-target Lancer to deal with Ishtar fast before she weakens the frontline too much or gets an NP off. Since Gulgalanna is a Rider, any support casters will most likely get killed off quickly, so buff the main damage dealer and attempt to take off an HP bar before that happens. Note that Gugalanna will remove the party’s buffs once its first HP bar breaks and gain increasing Attack Damage per attack on its last life. A King Hassan support can solo and completely trivialize the fight as long as he doesn’t use Guts before the buff removal due to Assassin-class advantage. Otherwise, single-target servants that deal effective damage such as Mecha Eli-chan andShikiare still the go-to damage dealers for this fight.
3. Police Dog
Avenger of Shinjuku - 311,030 HP/257,070 HP/176,060 HP
The fight against this Avenger starts out normally, but breaking his HP bars will grant buffs that causes his NP to insta-kill nearly any servant. Bring a Berserker or BB because of the Moon Cancer class advantage and her low-insta death rate to try and end the battle as soon as possible. Alternatively bring NP draining or stunning servants to keep Avenger of Shinjuku from NPing and use taunts as a last-resort to save the main damage-dealers.
4. Enkidu
Enkidu - 265,344 HP/263,912 HP/260,820 HP
The gimmick of this challenge quest is that Enkidu gains resistance towards buff removal and complete debuff immunity after the first and second HP bars are broken. Simply bring and support a single-target Saber or Berserker, make sure to use debuffs early and save burst for the final HP bar.
5. Fiend with Infinite Faces
Carmilla/Nightingale/Yan Qing (Assassin of Shinjuku) - 214,011 HP/244,140 HP/343,056 HP
The enemy servant will change forms when their HP bar breaks. Nightingale will gain an increased healing buff and Yan Qing gets increased critical damage when transforming. Bring a single-target Caster or borrow a support likeXuanzangto have class advantage during all 3 phases. Note that only Yan Qing can use his NP, so save burst and stuns for the final HP bar.
6. Gorgon
Gorgon - 122,304 HP/225,575 HP/217,588 HP
After breaking the first HP bar, Gorgon will gain a buff that ensures her spammable stun skill will land normally. Once her second HP bar is gone, Gorgon’s normal attacks will become AOE and also get increased crit chance. Since Gorgon is an Avenger, bring or borrow BB for class advantage and to trivialize the stun gimmick. Otherwise, bring debuff removals for whoever gets stunned and Arts stall teams since Gorgon’s AOE attacks charge a lot of NP.
