Master Chief’s Grappleshot may be the best piece of equipment in his arsenal. The grapple allows players to do all sorts of incredible things. There is no jump Chief can’t make with this excellent tactical item.

Reaching high areas and gaining speed are obvious, but there are a few other things Chief can do with the grapple. The following sections will explain all of the lesser known attributes of the grapple inHalo Infinite.
5Chief Can Control His Angle Of Approach
After it is set, gamers cancontrol which angle at which Chief grapples. Look left, and the spartan will fly slightly to the left. The same applies to looking up or down. By changing the angle, players will be able to reach different areas and close even more distance when it comes to opposing teams. Angling the approach is also a great way to maintain momentum. Chief can grapple onto a slope and slide to move even faster.

The grapple can even be used to vault the player straight into the air, which enemies will not be expecting. This element of surprise can be instrumental in gaining the upper hand on foes. Testing the Grappleshot in custom games will help users get an idea of how to control the approach and secure a kill. Another way to use the grapple is to aim at a target below and jump as the grapple releases,it will give Chief a jump and speed boost.
4Grappleshots Are Instant Melees
If a spartan gets a direct hit on an enemy with the Grappleshot, it will automatically initiate a melee attack.When a player has the sword or hammer, this makes for an unstoppable combination. In fact, it may be the most overpowered method of getting killsin the arena.
Getting the perfect grapple can be challenging, but pulling one off is extremely satisfysing. Even withouta power weapon, if the enemy is turned around, a melee will kill them instantly. If Chief misses the shot, the enemy will likely still be confused and will be an easy target anyway. It’s a win-win scenario.
3Grab Items And Board Vehicles
Any item on the map within the grapple’s range can be retrieved with a Grappleshot. Just aim, fire, and getthe power weaponwith ease. The same method works for dropped items, weapons, Active Camo, and Overshield. Fusion Coils can be snagged by the grapple as well. Gamers will never have to expose themselves toget the best items in the game, and can snag them from afar.

Likewise, the grapple can lock onto any vehicle. With an accurate shot, the grapple will automatically make Chief board a vehicle. Up to this point, the vehicles inInfiniteare quite difficult to take down without a power weapon. The grapple, however, is an easy alternative. Plus, the vehicle is not destroyed in the process, and can then be used to terrorize the opposing team. To grapple into an empty vehicle, gamers can aim at the drivers seat to hop right in.
2Use The Grapple To Retreat
Most people see Chief’s grapple as a way toget aggressive and push opponents. However, it is just as good at helping players out of tight situations. Grappling around corners and getting to high ground can help players keep distance while Chief’s shields recharge.

With a calculated approach, gamers can completelyoutwit opponents and have them running in circlesdumbfounded. This is especially true in ranked, because there is no radar. One smart way to flank a pushing opponent is to grapple straight up and dive bomb the spartan. Enemies will rarely look up, and will almost always be sitting ducks in this situation.
1Pick Objectives Up With The Grapple
This feature is particularly useful in Capture The Flag, but it has some utility in Oddball too. Grappling the flag is smart when there are enemies around, and it will cause chaos. The grapple works wonderswhen the capture point is up high. As long as the carrier drops the flag close, it will be a simple capture.
The same method works with the Oddball, and is a great way tograb the ball off of the spawn without dodging eight grenades at once. In Big Team Battle, shuttling power cells is a lot faster when users have a grapple. One final lesser known trait of the grapple is that it will let spartans travel the wrong way through lifts.
