Upcoming open world FPSFar Cry 6is one of the most highly-anticipated games of the year, boasting an impressive arsenal of weapons, theaward-winning Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, and making some significant improvements to theFar Cryformula. The game is a cross-generational title coming to as many platforms as possible, but it seems whenFar Cry 6launches for consoles next month, it will be missing a popular feature that will still be included in the PC release.

In a recent interview with WCCFTech, theFar Cry 6developers confirmed that ray tracing will be a PC-exclusive feature for the game. According to the developers, the goal with the console version ofFar Cry 6was to optimize its performance, targeting 4K resolution at 60 frames per second. Apparently including ray tracing would’ve jeopardized that goal, which is unfortunate news for any PS5 or Xbox Series X owners who wanted to seeFar Cry 6use ray tracing.

Even thoughFar Cry 6on consoles will not have ray tracing support, that doesn’t mean that the game won’t be visually impressive.Far Cry 6gameplay videosso far have looked great, with the game clearly looking like a big step forward for the franchise in terms of visuals. Far Cry 6’s release dateis right around the corner, so Ubisoft has been ramping up its marketing push for thet game. Besides developer interviews, thisFar Cry 6marketing push has included a series of videos recorded by Giancarlo Esposito, who playsFar Cry 6villain Anton Castillo. The videos have Esposito playing himself while discussing various aspects of theFar Cry 6game, including its story and some of the weapons that players will be able to utilize.

For instance, one video showsGiancarlo Esposito explainFar Cry 6’s flamethrower, one of the many makeshift weapons that players will be able to utilize as they lead the rebellion against Castillo’s corrupt government. With it being aFar Crygame and all, fans can expect plenty more weapons for their arsenal as well.

Soon enough, players will be able to explore theFar Cry 6open world, collecting weapons, killing enemies, and more. They won’t be able to do it with ray tracing enabled if they’re playing on consoles, but those with powerful enough PCs can still enjoy the feature.
