Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s first DLC, the Beerus Boss Battle Episode, finally arrived after months of waiting. Though some have gripes with the length of the DLC, most can agree that at the very least it has put the rest of the season pass into context. Odds are, the second Boss Battle Episode will be similar in scope and size, while the new story arc will be much larger. Additionally, it seems pretty certain that the DLCs will continue along the path ofDragon Ball Super, dispelling rumors aboutpotentialDragon Ball: GTDLCand the like.
There are still tons of possibilities forDragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s new story arc DLC, and nothing can truly be ruled out yet. There are options that are much less likely, however. For example, Golden Frieza probably won’t appear as the new story arc, as it is more realistic that he will be the second Boss Battle Episode or even be skipped altogether. Likewise, anything fromDragon Ball: GTseems improbable, asDragon Ball Z: Kakarothas made its decision to take theDragon Ball: Supercontinuity instead very clear.

DBZ: Kakarot Universe 6 DLC - Tournament of Destroyers
At one point, many believed thata Universe 6 DLC was unlikely, but given what is now known, it is actually a strong contender. Whether or not this appears as the new story arc or not is entirely dependent on how Bandai Namco plans to handle Golden Frieza. If the evil emperor’s return takes place as a boss battle episode like many had originally presumed it would, then the Tournament of Destroyers could in fact be the story arc DLC. This would see the introduction of the multiverse, new gods like Champa and Vados, and Universe 6’s fighters, Cabba and Hit.
That said, there is a very real possibility thatDragon Ball Z: Kakarotwill skip Golden Frieza, instead jumping straight into the Tournament of Destroyers and the Universe 6 Saga as its second boss battle DLC. There is precedent for this, as theDragon Ball Supermanga actually didn’t adapt theResurrection Farc, instead having Vegeta and Goku debut their Super Saiyan Blue forms for the first time in this tournament. All things considered, the Golden Frieza Saga doesn’t really add much to the story outside of its introduction of the Super Saiyan Blue form, whereas the Universe 6 Saga does a good job setting up what many believe the new story arc will be.

DBZ: Kakarot Future Trunks Saga - HOPE!!
A recent leak from Fanatical, a UK based website, first discovered by DMGaming pointed towards the possibility of the Future Trunks Saga being the new story arc DLC, but many dismissed this at first. That said, further investigation showed that theFuture Trunks Saga actually makes a lot of sense as a story DLC, as it is far more focused on an actual storyline than any other arc inDragon Ball Super. Beerus and Golden Frieza are single foes which are each fought once in their arcs, making them more suited to boss battle episodes, and the other twoDragon Ball Superarcs are tournaments.
The entirety of the Future Trunks Saga inDragon Ball Superfeels a lot like aDragon Ball Zsaga, with the heroes of the story constantly rising in power to match or surpass the villains while they do the same. Additionally, including this story arc would help bring Future Trunks, a fan favorite character, back to relevance by possibly unlocking aSuper Saiyan Rage formfor him. Finally, Zamasu and Goku Black are the only true “villains” found in the franchise aside from Frieza who returns fromDragon Ball Z.

DBZ: Kakarot Broly DLC - Z or Super?
Since the first leaks showing hidden dialogue fromVidel hinted at aDragon Ball Z: BrolyDLC forDragon Ball Z: Kakarot, fans have speculated on how the Legendary Super Saiyan could make an appearance. There is a strong case for Broly to actually be the new story arc, but the facts are somewhat confused and tend to contradict each other. On the one hand, the leak clearly is referencingDragon Ball Z: Broly - Second Coming, implying thatKakarotmight adapt not just one, but two Broly Z movies.
That said, with the choice to introduce Super Saiyan God, it would make a lot more sense touseDragon Ball Super: Broly’s incarnation of the character. This would work particularly well as this movie only has Goku and Vegeta use forms that they have access to in both the manga and the anime, meaning Super Saiyan Blue Kaioken and Super Saiyan Blue Evolution don’t make an appearance. Because of this, the movie could be used as the new story arc even if Super Saiyan Blue Kaioken is never introduced to the game.

DBZ: Kakarot Story Arc DLC - Less Likely Options
Depending on how things are handled, there are a number of other possibilities for the new story arc DLC. While these choices are not likely, they are not impossible, and thus will be mentioned here.Dragon Ball Super’s Tournament of Poweris a potential candidate, although to reach it in just three DLCs, the game would need to skip a significant amount ofDragon Ball Super’s content. Beyond this, any of theDragon Ball Zmovies could be used, and even stories fromDragon Ball: GTaren’t entirely out of the picture.
All that said, given what is known about the first DLC, it would be very strange for Bandai Namco to decide to backtrack and include stories fromDragon Ball Zor from the entirely different continuity that isDragon Ball: GT. More than likely, the story DLC will be one of the three options above, but theoretically speaking anything is possible. Some fans are even speculating that the story DLC will be completely original, although there is nothing to back this up, as the original story episodes that many are basing this theory off of were in reference to what is nowKakarot’s boss battle episodes.
