There are additional tasks, likesolving Disc Puzzles, for you to complete inEndless Ocean Luminousbesides scanning creatures and sending their data back to headquarters for research. However, the game doesn’t explain how to complete these missions, and you’ll need to use the indicator found in your HUD to do so.
You’ve most likely noticed a flashing red dot on your cursor that may increase in intensity, but you are unsure what it means. Here’s what the flashing red dot inEndless Ocean Luminousis and how to use it to complete missions.

What is the Flashing Red Dot in Endless Ocean Luminous?
The flashing red dot in Endless Ocean Luminous serves as a locator for a specific mission that can be undertakenduring solo and shared dives. When you spot this dot, it indicates the presence of a unique fish that requires scanning. As you approach the fish, the flashing will speed up, and the game will vibrate. This is your cue to scan every creature in the area quickly by using the no zoom method. If you do this correctly, you’ll discover a fish with a red dot when you enter focus mode. When you highlight this fish, the game will appear glitched, but this is the desired outcome.
What are the Red Circles in Endless Ocean Luminous?
Once you’ve located the initial fish, Sera will instruct you to scan more creatures of this kind to advance the mission. To do this, open your map by pressing the X button. You’ll notice red circles appearing on your map. These circles indicate areas where you should swim and follow the same red dot until you find the special creature and scan it. If you don’t see any red circles or if some are missing, continue exploring the map until they appear.
Once you’ve scanned them all, Sera will speak to you again, and you’ll see another cutscene. Then, you have one last red circle that you’ll need to investigate. Head there, find the unique creature, and scan it. Doing so will finish the mission, and the game will reward you. It is possible that you’ll be able to complete multiple of these missions in the same dive. If you need to leave the dive for whatever reason, just verify you have thatmap’s Dive-Site IDso you may rejoin it when you are ready.

What is the Flashing Yellow Circle in Endless Ocean Luminous?
The flashing yellow circle is unrelated to the flashing red dot, but you may have noticed it while following it to find the unique creatures. This circle tells you that there is Salvage nearby for you to collect. Salvage can be tricky to find as it can be on the ocean floor or on the ledges of high rock formations. You’ll know when you find it as you’ll see a gold glint floating in the water. When you approach the Salvage, you’ll see the prompt to press the A button to collect it.
