FromSoftware fans have been waiting years to get their hands onElden Ring, and now the long wait is finally nearing its end. TheElden Ringrelease date is just a week away, and so fans may need to start deciding which class they’ll be playing as come launch. FromSoftware has been releasing new art for the variousElden Ringclasses in the lead-up to the game’s release, and it’s now pulled the curtain back on the game’s final class.
FromSoftware has finally shown fans what the Wretch class looks like inElden Ring. The Wretch is described as “A poor, purposeless sod, naked as the day they were born.” It was previously said that theWretch class is going to be the hardest class to play as, so anyone new to Soulslike games may want to think twice before selecting them. They may be better off playing as the Prophet class instead, which was shown off alongside the Wretch.

FromSoftware also released a new description for theProphet class inElden Ringto go along with the image, saying that the class is “Well-versed in healing incantantions.“Elden Ringfans will want to keep this in mind when choosing which class to play, though they have no shortage of options. Including the Wretch and Prophet classes, there are a total of 10 classes to choose from in the game.
The otherElden Ringclasses include the Astrologer, Bandit, Confessor, Hero, Prisoner, Samurai, Vagabond, and Warrior. TheElden Ringclassesall have their own pros and cons for fans to consider. For example, the Samurai class isn’t going to be the best class to choose for someone that wants to use magic, but they are fairly balanced in terms of physical combat, allowing players to get in close with melee strikes as well as fight from afar using a bow.
Some of these classes were playable in theElden Ringclosed network tests, so fans that were able to get in on that action may already have a good idea of which class they want to play as come launch. Everyone else may need to experiment a bit before they decide on which class they want to stick with for their entire playthrough.
Like the bosses in other FromSoftware games,Elden Ringbossesare going to put up a serious fight, and so it will be important for players to find a class they’re comfortable with. Fans will get to try the classes for themselves in just a week’s time.
