Elden Ringplayers who want to access theShadow of the ErdtreeDLC will need to beat both Mohg, Lord of BloodandStarscourge Radahn. ManyElden Ringplayers have long been aware of the necessity to defeat Mohg to play theShadow of the ErdtreeDLC, but they may not have realized that Mohg is just one of the optional bosses that must be defeated to access the new content.
The necessity to defeatMohg, Lord of Bloodto access theShadow of the ErdtreeDLC has been obvious toElden Ringplayers ever since the first trailer dropped. TheShadow of the Erdtreereveal trailerconfirmed the expansion’s focus on Miquella, whose cocoon is located in the same area where players fight Mohg. Mohg is definitely going to be the toughest obstacle forElden Ringplayers to overcome if they want to play theShadow of the ErdtreeDLC, but there’s another challenging boss they will have to take on as well.
BeforeElden Ringplayers can play the DLC, they have to beatStarscourge Radahn. Radahn is a boss that manyElden Ringplayers end up fighting anyway, as the Sites of Grace lead right to him. However, he is technically an optional boss and does not need to be defeated for one to beat the game. Because of this, it’s entirely possible thatElden Ringplayers have not defeated Radahn on their saves. So, anyone booting up theirElden Ringsave to double-check thatthey have Mohg defeatedwill also want to see if they’ve bested Radahn on their current save file.
Where to Find Radahn in Elden Ring
Elden Ringplayers that have managed to defeat Mohg should have a fairly easy time fighting Radahn, as he is meant to be fought significantly earlier in any given playthrough. A portal atRedmane Castlein Caelid will teleport players to the battleground where they fight Radahn, but they first must activate the Festival of Radahn. Players can accomplish this by going through the steps inRanni’s questline, or they can do it by activating a Site of Grace in the Atlus Plateau.
Fighting Radahn inElden Ringcan be a tall order for newer players, but as previously mentioned, it shouldn’t be too difficult for anyone who has managed to progress far enough to beat Mohg. Once Radahn and Mohg have both been defeated,Elden Ringplayers can jump into theShadow of the ErdtreeDLCand start a fresh adventure in the Lands Between.
