The From Software community is uniquely obsessed with the developer’s games. Perhaps it’s the niche origins of the Souls-like genre creating obsession, or perhaps it’s From Software’s ability to craft incredibly rich worlds. The result is that creatively talented individuals flock to From Software’s games and put together incredibly impressive pieces of art.Elden Ringis no different. A recent Ranni the Witch painting from artist Adrien le Coz is a great example of the talent withinElden Ring’s community.
The piece by le Coz capturesRanni’s story inElden Ring, a tapestry depicting the interactions players will experience with her through the game. The piece itself is lightly spoiler-rich, due to its spoilers being free of context. The description of the piece, however, will delve into all of Ranni’s story throughElden Ring.

Moving from left to right, viewers can see Ranni’s mother Rennala, the last Carian Queen and the headmistress of the Academy of Raya Lucaria. Across from Rennala on the right of the painting isRanni’s father Radagon, who left Rennala to become Elden Lord as Marika’s consort. As such, Ranni is a demigod and a choice to become the Golden Order’s new god. Ranni’s story begins here, and in From Software fashion, it takes many dark turns.
To start, Adrien depicts theTwo Fingersrising into the air. The Two Fingers chose Ranni to become a god, but Ranni spurned this destiny. She went so far as to steal a piece of the death rune from Maliketh and slew her own physical body. A red-haired woman, Ranni’s previous form, and the white-haired doll she’d become with death’s curse run between them are visible. The shape of the Divine Tower where Ranni’s body lies can be seen in the corner. Ranni’s modern form, a four-armed doll dressed as the snow witch that trained her in sorcery, is at the center of the piece. Her three guardians are shown at her side, as is Glinstone Dragon Adula.
Below Ranni is a depiction of the Three Sisters, three towers where Ranni and her servants reside. To the right of the piece is the conclusion of Ranni’s efforts against theGolden Order. After the player provides her with the Fingerslayer Blade, Ranni slaughters her Two Fingers and claims her independence once more. Here, the player can give Ranni the Dark Moon Ring to propose to her. The Cathedral of Manus Celes is shown, the location where Ranni’s Two Fingers are kept.
There’s even more detail to be found spread throughout le Coz’sElden Ringpiece. Whether it’s thefallen star Astelalong the top, the Carian and Leyndell knights below, or the potion bottle and small Ranni doll that hint at deeper parts of the story. It’s clear le Coz is quite a fan considering the Ranni piece is one of several that he’s done sinceElden Ringlaunched.
