Electronic Arts has several game franchises underneath its belt. Many of these franchises have done very well, including their sports division. Even though EA is known as one of theworst companies in the world, the publisher sure knows how to publish some really good games.

Lately, the games coming from EA have not been the best. Games such asAnthemandMass Effect Andromedahave not done well. The successful launch ofJedi: Fallen Orderhelped the publisher make some ground up with players. Regardless, we can always turn to their top ten best franchises. (Scores are averages of multiple games across the franchise.)
10Need for Speed (73)
Need for Speedhas been around for a long time. It has certainly had its highs and lows. Some would argue the movie was the lowest point, but we are discussing games here.Need for Speedhas been a main competitor in the racing genre. It typically faces off against Forza, which has a consistently good record.
The most recentNeed for Speedgames have not received the best scores from Metacritic. Installments from the early 2000s seemed to be the peak forNeed for Speed. We can only hope Electronic Arts returns to its roots for a greatNeed for Speedgame.

9Medal of Honor (78)
TheMedal of Honorfranchise was flourishing in the ’90s and early 2000s. It was a main competitor in the first-person shooter genre for some time. In fact, Vince Zampella, the creator of Respawn Entertainment, created theMedal of Honorfranchise. He then moved on to create monumental first-person shooters likeCall of DutyandTitanfall.
Since the golden days ofMedal of Honor, EA hasn’t done a great job at keeping it alive. EA has some major FPS games under its umbrella, such asBattlefield. The lastMedal of Honorgame did not do well, which released in 2010. Respawn is currently developing a VRMedal of Honorgame that is planned to release later this year.

8Sims (79)
TheSimsfranchise has allowed players to act out their own perfect lives or create nightmarish hellscapes for their sims. Regardless,Simsgives players the role of God. They cancreate who they want, make them do what they want, and so much more. The firstSimsgame released in 2000.
Since then, the game has evolved to incorporate a wide range of features such as pets, ghosts, vampires, aliens, and more. The most recent installment,Sims 4,has received okay reviews and continues to get content. However, said content is not free. Players will need to purchase the packs in order to add some desirable features.

7Madden NFL (80)
Madden NFLwas created in 1988. Since then, more than 25 different games have released. Many of those games released in subsequent years, which has been the standard for some time. EA releases aMadden NFLgame every year. Many argue the publisher should take a break in order to give the franchise some breathing room.

Metacritic showsMadden NFLpeaking in the early 2000s. Games within that time have the highest scores and feature must-play badges. For football fans,Madden NFLis a must-have every year, and that’s okay.Maddenwill continue to satisfy the needs of football game fans for years to come.
6Plants vs. Zombies (81)
Electronic Arts has done a great job of developing a shooter genre around the hit mobile gamePlants vs. Zombies. The two installments of the franchise have received relatively good reviews. Both games feature great combat and an interesting cast of characters. Players will have a choice of classes on the plants and zombie side.
Once selected, the two sides will battle it out in a variety of game modes. Plants vs. Zombies originated as a mobile game that features players defending their home from waves of zombies.Garden Warfaretakes combat even further by giving both sides playable characters.

The developers behind theDead Spaceseries is no more. Visceral Games was shut down in 2017 while they were developing aStar Warsgame. TheDead Spacefranchise started in 2008 and lasted until 2013.Dead Spacehad three main story installments with a few spin-offs and comics here and there.
Dead Space’s best installment isDead Space 2.The sequel saw the growth of Isaac Clarke and expanded the universe ofDead Space. The most innovativeDead Spacemechanic was the need to remove the enemy’s limbs rather than shoot their heads. The change in combat made for interesting moments in the horror franchise.

4Battlefield (84)
Battlefieldhas been a staple of EA’s portfolio for some time. The first-person shooter is the primary competitor to the franchise giantCall of Duty.Battlefieldhas been around since the early 2000s. Electronic Arts has turned the shooter into something very special. The franchise does not release every year, so they have had time innovating.
Battlefieldis known for its major multiplayer landscapes and destructive environments. The series has also strayed away from genre fads, such as science fiction themes. Call of Duty followed these themes as it tried to find its footing.Battlefieldkept its footing and has continued to be successful.

3FIFA (85)
Electronic Arts is known for its sports games, andFIFAis one the most successful out of all of them. Football or soccer in the United States is the most popular sport around the world. Electronic Arts have done a good job of creating a fun and accurate soccer game for players all over the world.

Unfortunately, there have been some iterations of the game, not worth the price. For example,FIFA 19for the Switch is a poor version. The game is almost exactly the same as the last and adds nothing to the experience. Hopefully, EA can start developing a better version of this world-renowned soccer game.
2Mass Effect (86)
TheMass Effectseries is one of EA’s best games. The first three games are great with developing characters, allowing players to make decisions and storytelling. These features and many others are why this game franchise has done so well. Unfortunately, Bioware dropped the ball on the most recent installment.
Mass EffectAndromedais nothing close to the original trilogy. The game’s story, combat, and world fall flat in so many ways. Fortunately, the other games make up for its issues. Fans can continue to play the original games through EA Access or Xbox backward compatibility.

1Titanfall (86)
Respawn Entertainment has created a unique world full of ten-foot-tall titans and wall running soldiers. TheTitanfallfranchise is the best of what Electronic Arts has to offer. The team at Respawn knows how to deliver exceptional games with unique experiences.Apex Legendsis also included in this scoring because it is set in the same universe.
Titanfall 2is arguably one of the best FPS games of all time. The story also delivers an emotional train ride for players. Additionally, theTitanfallfranchise inspired other major franchises such asCall of Duty. The developers at Respawn Entertainment know how to innovate and create great games.
