The long-awaitedDying Light 2has finally arrived. Like in the firstDying Light, a major appeal of this title comes from its complex parkour system and open-world environment. OneDying Light 2player recently drew attention to the fact that gamers can use the parkour mechanics to make protagonist Aiden Caldwell trip.

Dying Light 2takes place in a massive European city called Villedor, which acts as the last bastion of modern civilization in the face of a zombie apocalypse. The game also features afresh take on the Infected, though it still seems leery of calling them zombies. However, for some gamers, the parkour mechanics and the ability to sprint and leap all over Villedor are a bigger draw.

Redditor GetBcckGrey shared a short video of themselves playing the game specifically to highlight Aiden tripping. According to them, dodging backward three times will cause Aiden to fall over backward and stay down for about a second. This little feature not only shakes up the rhythm of combat but also adds more personality toAiden Caldwell as a protagonist.

Apparently, this isn’t the only way players can prompt Aiden to trip–he can also be knocked off his feet by dodging three times in any direction. In other words, every third dodge in a row reportedly has a trip mechanic attached. The result is sure to makeDying Light 2’s combatfeel frenzied and difficult, but there can be beneficial side effects to letting Aiden get swept off his feet. It appears that tripping lowers Aiden’s hitbox, meaning that under some circumstances, it might be a good idea to keep Aiden on the ground–at least until players can get some good combat skills.

As of writing, it appears that other fans have mixed feelings about the tripping mechanic andAiden Caldwell as a whole. Several users compared Aiden negatively to Kyle Crane, the protagonist of the firstDying Lightgame. One of the main reasons for this comparison is that some fans view Kyle as less fragile than Aiden, particularly since Kyle spent most of his game as a relatively baseline human while Aiden is steadily transforming into an Infected. However, another group of fans believes that Aiden’s status as just an ordinary survivor is more impressive than Kyle being a trained operative.

Dying Light 2is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
