Although Bandai Namco and CyberConnect2 have keptDragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s DLC relatively secret, it’s all but officially confirmed now that the first DLC will be theGods of the Universe Saga. This story arc introduces Beerus and Whis to the world ofZand sets up the story to be continued over toDragon Ball Super.

Recent scans of a V-Jump Magazine set to release in the coming weeks have been able to, first, prove that a tree would be important to thisDragon Ball Z: KakarotDLC. This led to speculation of whether it would indeed involve the tree in Hell, the Tree of Might, or the Tree found on Beerus' planet, with a spotty image later confirming that it would indeed be the latter.

Now, a new high quality image shows off that tree with more detail and mentions something excited forDBZ: Kakarot. Namely,Dragon Ballreporter and Twitter user Dragon Ball Hype has stated that the DLC is “coming soon.” Since he was the first to report the aforementioned details with scans of the magazine, it stands to reason that he should be trusted, and fans may very well hear something about this Gods of the Universe DLC sooner rather than later.

Considering the magazine is scheduled to fully release in the coming weeks, it stands to reason that the DLC announcement will be around then. This also potentially means the DLC, which takes place after theBuu Saga, will release by the end of March. Of course, “soon” is relative, and that is mere speculation at this time.

This DLC premise does pose some rather interesting questions, though. Gods of the Universe is a two-movie saga, with theBattle of the Godsmovie likely being the one depicted here asDBZ: KakarotDLC, but it is followed up byResurrection Fwhich introducesFrieza’s Golden Form. It stands to reason then that the entire saga would be included, but perhaps in parts, as including one and not the other as DLC would seem strange.

Furthermore, it’ll be interesting ifBeerus and Whis were playable charactersinDragon Ball Z: Kakarotafter the completion ofBattle of the Gods. This may seem like a stretch, but considering the two characters and their own unique move sets have been found in the game, it really isn’t. Fans will just need to wait and see what Bandai Namco has up its sleeves regarding this DLC to know for sure.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarotis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
