The state ofCall of Duty: Warzoneis in a frustrating place. Activision’s refusal to negotiate with striking QA workers at Raven Software has contributed to a state of the game with many frustrating technical issues. That’s translated directly toCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers decrying the battle royale’s new patch and map, and the frustration isn’t quieting. YouTuber Dr Disrespect captured these feelings in a recent stream, going so far as to say that Activision and Raven should “scrap” the Caldera map.
During a recentCall of Duty: Warzonematch,Dr Disrespectwon a fight in the Gulag and dropped back in to help his team. Within 30 seconds, Dr Disrespect was down again. Needless to say, he wasn’t happy. From a downed state, Dr Disrespect would say “The state of this game, for me, it’s almost unplayable.” As his opponents finished him off, he’s continue by saying, “I’ve got network issues, I can’t see ****,” and then, “My game’s rubberbanding, there’s no audio. This map? I’d scrap it right now.”

It must be said that Dr Disrespect is known for his reactionary takes and exaggeration. The line between what Dr Disrespect actually wants and what he’s saying due to frustration isn’t entirely clear. He did just get completely destroyed by an opponent inCall of Duty: Warzone, after all. But if he genuinely experienced those technical issues, it’s easy to understand why he’d be angry. The thing is, if it’s the technical issues causing him problems then it doesn’t necessarily make sense to scrap the entireCaldera map.
The heart of Dr Disrespect’s problems appear to be focused on ongoing technical issues withCall of Duty: Warzone. Though who’s to say whether Dr Disrespect would still want Caldera scrapped or not even if thetechnical issues inWarzonewere fixed. It’s difficult to tell when the YouTuber is being serious or not.
There’s unfortunately no simple solution to the issues Dr Disrespect is calling attention to. As mentioned,Raven’s entire team of QA developersis currently on strike and Activision is refusing to negotiate with the team. It’s unclear whetherCall of Duty: Warzone’s current technical issues can be solved quickly without those developers, let alone continue the aggressive content rollout thatWarzonehas set for itself over the past years.
AllCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers, like Dr Disrespect, can do for the time being is let Activision know about their frustrations and hopes for improvements. Alternatively, they can also play other games, which may be the best way of showing frustration with the current state of the game. Dr Disrespect, however, will likely continue to play and voice his frustration loudly.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
