Dr Disrespect’s mantra of sorts is “Violence. Speed. Momentum.” Indeed, these three words define the Doc’s overall persona, his signature over-the-top approach, and, sometimes, even his video game preference. TheDoc recently explained why he wouldn’t play popular MMONew World, for example, and it was related to this idea of action. This may be one reason why The Doc plays a lot of shooters, likeCall of Duty: Warzone.
Here lately, across all major FPS and BR titles, there’s been a lot of debate about mouse and keyboard vs. controllers and aim assist. There’s a huge split and a huge debate over this, with many feeling that the aim assist on controllers is far too high. A recentCall of Duty: Warzonematch led The Doc into a rant, where he expressed much of the same sentiment, after he was lasered by a controller player.

It wasThe Doc and TimTheTatmanagainst two players named Tommey and Almond. Dr Disrespect was trying to get Tommey to peak so the Doc could get a headshot, but Tommey was able to shred Dr Disrespect first. The Doc was clearly angry, commenting on the “aim assisting just lock[-ing] on.”Call of Duty: Warzone’s killcamdidn’t help, as the Doc stood, hit his chair, and let loose an angry “f*ck." His reaction can be seen around the 2:22:00 time-mark below.
He’d continue as he sat: “I’m so sick and tired, man! I’m just f*cking sick and tired of this cheesy aim assist, crossplay!” He’d, later on, describe the advantages of aim assist as “disgusting” and even calls it “seventh-grade training wheels.” The Doc has even compared the feature to hacks before, and this latest rant is not the first time he’s expressed such strong feelings over the feature.
About a month ago, Dr Disrespect tweeted, “without your aim assist, you ain’t nothin.” This was big on its own, but the controversial statement went through the streaming world.Twitch streamer Mythretweeted the sentiment, adding that he’d never put “a controller player in my top 10 for greatest FPS players of all time.”
Many weren’t happy with Myth, and it led to comments about the variousadvantages of keyboard and mouse, as well as many of the great controller players in the streaming space. Myth would later on apologize, but if this and Doc’s latest rant proves anything, it’s that the debate around controllers, aim assist, keyboard and mouse, and all of that isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
