Bungie’s dedicated Season of the Worthy page features a section on Trials of Osiris, detailing many things that players are already aware of including going flawless, earning exclusive loot, and more. In Trials of Osiris, going Flawless means the fireteam wins seven games in a row granting them access to the Lighthouse, a special location on Mercury. This is a highly sought after event and even though pinnacle gear can be obtained outside of Flawless, reachingthe Lighthouse will grant exclusive gear. Bungie has already shown off a special glowing armor effect for Flawless players, but many continue to speculate curated or adept level gear as well.

While there are some that will say this waters down the competitive nature of the mode, the reasoning behind it is actually very important. By offering ways for players to earn good gear without having to go flawless, something which a good portion of the player base likely won’t be able to do, it keeps them invested to continue playing. If there’s no way to get something for the effort and time put in, motivation may drop and hurt the overall population levels of the mode.

At this time, its not known how pinnacle gear can be earned outside of going flawless. Many fans on Reddit have begun to theorize that gear is based on wins, similar to the originalTrials of Osiris game modein the firstDestiny. Something like 3 wins will award an armor piece, 5 gets a gun, etc. It’s also possible the game mode follows other activities in that playing a certain amount of times in a week grants new gear.

Trials of Osiris is being added as an end-game activity, something that may not appeal to all players. To help it feel that way, Bungie is enabling power levels similar to Iron Banner, but a minimum power requirement is also being added of 960 which should help safeguard the mode from some cheaters. The other key element is that theSeasonal Artifact is also being disabledwhich will help place a higher value on player skill rather than who plays the game more than others.

Destiny 2is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One. Season of the Worthy begins for all players on March 10.
