Season of the Witch introduces a new progression system called the Deck of Whispers. AsDestiny 2players progress through different activities or as rewards, they’ll occasionally find unidentified cards based which can then be unveiled and activated at the Lectern of Divination. Major arcana can be drawn from a player built deck before any seasonal activity, which gives each fireteam member a buff based on the card used. If the same card is drawn by more than 1 member, the strength is increased for that encounter.

On the flip side, minor arcana cards can provide a passive bonus upgrade that become enabled for the remainder ofDestiny 2’s 22nd season. Alternatively, cards can also grant tangible rewards like keys, engrams, currencies, weapons, and more. Bungie’s goals for this deckbuilding system is to allow players to buildcraft around their preferred style, fireteam, and class.
