Destiny 2’s newest Exotic mission Avalon is a good mix of fun and challenge, but Warlocks should beware of a bug reducing their damage output while using a specific Super. Since the launch ofLightfall,Destiny 2has become riddled with bugs involving weapons, subclasses, and mods, with even the new Strike mission thrown in the mix. Joining the list of bugs is the latest Exotic mission that came out merely a day ago, adding yet another issue for Bungie to fix in a future patch.
Exotic Missions inDestiny 2have always been popular with the community, and to Bungie’s credit, the studio has always managed to craft each one with unique flairs and flavors. From the eerie, expansive trek into the Taken-infested bowels of Io in The Whisper to the abandoned Cabal ship haunted by the Scorn in Pressage,Destiny 2’s Exotic missions have always remained chock-full of challenging encounters and secrets tucked away in places off the beaten track. So it came as little surprise when Bungie announced theExotic Mission Rotator forDestiny 2and the studio’s decision to dedicate an entire team to develop even more missions like Vox Obscura afterLightfall.

Merely a week afterLightfall’s launch, players discovered a bunch of carefully placed Vex nodes around the Gulch in the European Dead Zone that led to a deep cavern with a secret. The subsequent incursion into the Vex Network is as challenging as fun, with elaborate puzzles and difficult boss encounters awaiting players. Yet, the Avalon mission isn’t without its issues, as one observantDestiny 2player noticed that players standing inside the Well of Radiance were dealing reduced damage to enemies due to a possible bug. First reported by Destiny Bulletin on Twitter, the tweet shows a video of a Warlock standing inside a Well of Radiance and dealing less damage to the final boss.
The video showcases the player using both Izanagi’s Burden and a Linear Fusion Rifle to demonstrate how both weapons are underperforming inside the Super zone. Normally, players standing inside the Well of Radiance receive a damage buff and increased healing, making it amust-have Super in almost every endgame content ofDestiny 2. The ease of use and the magnitude of benefits the Super provides has become a point of debate in the community, with many even calling for nerfs. While this issue is most definitely caused by a bug, some players are open to welcoming this tradeoff as a permanent feature.
While this bug will certainly be annoying in the Legend version of Avalon, most players are concerned about the bug spreading to other parts of the game. With thelaunch ofDestiny 2’s new Raidand the World’s First Raid race merely days away, players are eager for Bungie to fix this issue post-haste.
