Summary
Destiny 2is by far one of the best looter shooters out there, with a massive amount of content and a deep and thought-provoking narrative to boot. As the game progresses, developer Bungie continues to add and alter content in an effort to improve their fans' overall experience, including new weapons, new stories, and new locations. One location, the Enclave, originally introduced inDestiny 2’sThe Witch Queenexpansion, has acted as a secondary hub for players for the last couple of years, alongside the Tower and the H.E.L.M.
The Enclave is primarily home tothe Relic, which is used to craft weapons. In addition to the Relic, players can access their Post Box, their Vault, and an Evidence Board that provides a variety of side quests associated with theWitch Queencampaign. Despite all of these amenities, however, the Enclave still lacks one major feature that players have been requesting be added for some time: a proper shooting range.

Destiny 2’s Enclave Needs a Proper Shooting Range
Destiny 2’s Enclave Provides Players With Very Little to Test Weapons On
The Enclave inDestiny 2may provide players with plenty of useful features, but it is lacking something that many players have been requesting for several years now:a dedicated firing range. In the far back room of the Enclave, players can find a series of floating disks. When fired at, these disks display damage numbers to inform players of how much damage that weapon or ability is dealing.
While Bungie had good intentions in mind when adding targets to the Enclave, it is still not quite what it could be. The disks are at varying ranges to show the damage falloff between closer and further targets, and they also display the difference between precision damage and normal damage. However, the ability to calculate weapon damage alone contributes very little to what is necessary forbuildcrafting inDestiny 2, which Bungie has recently been emphasizing more and more.
Currently,Destiny 2is in the middle of its final season,Season of the Wish, and while the seasonal model Bungie has followed for several years has earned its fair share of criticism, some seasons are highly praised by players. Among those seasons thatDestiny 2players consider some of the best was Season of Opulence, which lasted for three months in 2019. Season of Opulence introduced the renowned Menagerie activity, along with one of the game’s most unique locations to date, the Tribute Hall.
Inthe Tribute Hall, players could keep track of their Season of Opulence triumphs through Tributes that would be added as those triumphs were completed. Additionally, some Tributes could be purchased via the Visage of Calus in the foyer near the main room. While some of these Tributes were nothing more than decorative pieces, others would appear as simulated enemies that could be used for testing the effectiveness of different weapons and builds.
While Bungie had good intentions in mind when adding targets to the Enclave, it is still not quite what it could or should be.
One advantage that the Tribute Hall’s shooting range had over the Enclave’s is the inclusion of health bars for the simulated enemies. This would more accurately depict a weapon’s time-to-kill, as opposed to the damage numbers that appear on the Enclave’s floating disks. Many players have been requesting that the Tribute Hall return since it was vaulted with the release ofBeyond Lightin 2020, but the game has yet to see anything even remotely similar to what it offered.
AsDestiny 2continues to evolve and players become more familiar with buildcrafting, the Enclave (and any hub that may be added inThe Final Shape) needs a shooting range comparable to the Tribute Hall from Season of Opulence. While Bungie can’t bring the Tribute Hall back for lore reasons, it could still add something that would allow players to experiment with their weapons and abilities on a much more extensive level than they currently can.
