Destiny 2players are unhappy with a recent change involving Orbs of Power in the current sandbox. Orbs of Power allowDestiny 2players to gain Super energy and activate certain armor mod perks, but some longtime community members believe Bungie made a detrimental change to these valuable orbs.

Destiny 2’sLightfall expansionmay have introduced Strand Darkness subclasses, but Orbs of Power still retain their original function of granting Super energy to Guardians. Armor mods may increase the chance of creating Orbs of Power with elemental weapon and grenade kills, reduce ability cooldown upon retrieval of an orb, and grant Armor Charges under special conditions. Guardian loadouts that generate a plentiful amount of Orbs of Power are helpful in Vanguard and Seasonal activity sessions. However,Destiny 2players are unpleased with a change to Orbs of Power and in-game physics in the current season.

Destiny 2player AdLate8669 believes the recent Orbs of Power change adversely affected its behavior within the sandbox, causing the orbs to roll out of the player’s reach while playing in-game activities. BeforeSeason of the Deep, Orbs of Power would typically stay put on the ground after being successfully generated from Super, ability, or weapon kills. Once the change was made, players started noticing that Orbs of Power would roll up or down inclined surfaces and even fall off of the map in some activities. As a result, AdLate8669 and fellowDestiny 2players are frustrated about the change to Orbs of Power and wish for Bungie to reverse its decision.

SeveralDestiny 2players in the community believe collision boxes for Orbs of Power were changed due to the newly updated Shoot to Loot weapon trait. This particular trait allowsDestiny 2players to pick up an Orb of Power or ammo brick after directly shooting it. Originally, the Shoot to Loot trait solely worked with ammo bricks, but Bungie updated the trait to include Orbs of Power in Season of the Deep and beyond.

The recent change to Orbs of Power may be bothersome to some players, but Bungie may apply adjustments based on feedback gathered during Season of the Deep.Orbs of Power are a crucial component ofDestiny 2’sgameplay, so another change may come in the near future if fans continue to voice their concerns.

Bungie is expected to talk about upcoming changes to Destiny 2 alongsidethe Final Shape expansionduring its dedicated showcase on August 22. In little over a month’s time, fans will learn more about Cayde-6’s return in the newDestiny 2expansion, which is currently scheduled for a 2024 launch.
