While the game has had its ups and downs,Destiny 2has remained one of the most popular live service titles on the market. The sci-fi shooter has provided hundreds– if not thousands– of hours of entertainment for fans, but it has left out some highly requested features. However, one of the most sought after changes will soon be making its way to the game.
Destiny 2is finally getting transmogrification, more frequently referred to as transmog, one of themost-requested featuressince the early weeks of the firstDestiny. Transmog, for those unfamiliar, allows players to change the look of their gear, keeping Guardians fresh even when in less than ideal equipment.

Destiny 2’stransmog feature will allow players to turn their armor into universal ornaments, making it much easier to create a coordinated look for Guardians. The ability to change looks will be unlocked with “in-game effort” or Silver, though no further details were given. It doesn’t appear thatDestiny 2’sweaponswill be provided the option of transmogrification, but given how they operate, that isn’t such a bad thing.
Bungie didn’t offer a solid date on when fans can expect transmog to be implemented to the game, just that it’s in “early development and is expected sometime in Year 4.“Bungie has teased big things for Year 4, making transmogrification seem like a relatively inconsequential addition to the game. Regardless, it’s still one of the most-requested features to date, and fans are sure to appreciate adjusting the look of their Guardians however they wish.
Recently, public opinion of the game has taken a bit of a nosedive. With many unhappy with the state of Year 3, fans are hoping that Bungie makes some major changes to the game as it transitions into Year 4, which will, hopefully, bring many more positive changes than just the addition of transmog. It will be some time before players know for sure, though.
Still, the future of the game is exciting.Destiny 2has been confirmed for next-gen consoles, which means fans have a lot moreDestinycoming their way. How that transition will work is anyone’s guess, but at least players have transmog to look forward to.
