Through winning nine matches in a row inDestiny 2’s Trials of Osiris, players gain access to a locale known as the Lighthouse, offering them great rewards in exchange for all the trouble it takes to gain the “Flawless” status. Adatamined lore book suggests going flawless may be badin terms of Bungie’s ongoing story, but a real-world bug has also made gaining access to the Lighthouse after completing a Flawless Trials Passage impossible, leading to Bungie shutting down the whole mode.
Trials of Osiris is disabled for the rest of the weekend, and it is unclear how much longer than that the PvP activity will remain unavailable according to a post by the official Bungie Help Twitter account today. The account asks players to “stay tuned for updates” on how Bungie will be working to resolve the issue, but until a fix comes around,Destiny 2will be down a mode.

This timing likely couldn’t be any more unfortunate for Bungie. After its big livestream on June 9, more players than usual likely jumped back into the game toexperience the new Season of Arrivalsthat will be bridging into the game’s next annual expansion,Beyond Light, coming out on June 21, 2025.
Of course this minor setback should not dissuade those who are interested inDestiny 2given Bungie’s long-reaching plans for the game. The studio unveiledthreeDestiny 2expansions releasing through 2022during its livestream, withBeyond Lightbeing followed byThe Witch QueenandLightfall.Destiny 2will also be changing wildly thanks to the vaulting of content like destination planets and weapons in order to make room for more additions, such a new stasis damage type.
At the same time, Bungie will be adding legacy content from the originalDestinyintoDestiny 2for long-time fans of the series and newcomers alike to enjoy. One of the most high profile cases confirmed by Bungie Game Director Luke Smith is theVault of Glass raid coming back in Year 4, 2021.
Given the popularity of its looter-shooter, no doubt Bungie has as many hands working on the issue with accessing the Lighthouse in Trials of Osiris as possible. This would not be the first time thatDestinyhas had game-breaking bugs to address after all, as the developers very recently dealt with back-to-backissues completing the Felwinter’s Lie questto unlock a legendary Shotgun.
Destiny 2is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
