Dead by Daylightis currently celebrating its 5th Anniversary with festive cosmetics and items. But whileDead by Daylight’s five-year development cycleis commendable, many fans are disappointed with a number of performance issues that have appeared during the game’s latest updates and patches.

Dead by Daylight’s newest DLC map, resembling the Raccoon City Police Station fromResident Evil 2, was previously inactive due to issues that were crashing players' matches.Matchmaking has also caused players issues recently, with most issues coming from console platforms in particular. Recently, Behaviour Interactive has made clear that it is aware of performance issues that fans have been vocal about, and that it is still “working on a potential fix” to them. In light of that, the 5th anniversary event that was previously scheduled to conclude on July 15 has received an extension.

Behaviour has announced thatDead by Daylight’s 5th Anniversaryfestivities will continue until July 22.Dead by Daylight’s 5th Anniversary event offers fans exclusive rewards, cosmetics, and items that are currently available in the game. Community challenge incentives demonstrate that a large number of players have been playing and completing tasks. But a large portion of fans are still having performance issues that are detrimental to their experiences in matches.

Further,Dead by Daylight’s current Rift, which was meant to conclude next week as well, will stay open until July 21. Rifts grant players cosmetics that would otherwise be purchasable inDead by Daylight’s marketplace. The Rift’s progression awards players intermittently, which encourages fans to grind through experience points in order to receive unique cosmetics. Meanwhile, more rewards can be unlocked much more frequently, but are locked behind an Auric Cell paywall. This encourages fans to indulge in optional microtransactions in order to receive more rewards per Rift level.

Fans wonder if the 5th Anniversary event’s daily gifts will also continue along with the extension. For example,Dead by Daylight’s Shrine of Secrets is refreshing daily during the celebration, with many fans asking if this will be the case for the duration of the event. Some fans have stated that they are overjoyed to have more time available to collect cosmetic crowns and other rewards that are exclusive to the event.

Fortunately, fans now have an extension on the 5th Anniversary event. HopefullyDead by Daylight’s performance issuesare repaired in the meantime.

Dead by Daylightis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices.
