David Harbour is set to stream hisWorld of Wacraft: Dragonflightdungeon delving on Twitch tomorrow, joined by famous faces from theWorld of Warcraftcommunity. Known for his role asJim Hopper in Netflix’s critically-acclaimedStranger Things, David Harbour is apparently an avid fan of Blizzard’s flagship title, having playedWorld of Warcraftwith such intensity in the past that it almost made him neglect his acting career. The launch ofDragonflight, while not exactly without issues, has seen the return of many players to the game. Though it is too early to say if the newWorld of Warcraftexpansion will be the redemption story it needs after thefumbling ofShadowlandsandBattle for Azeroth, the initial impressions have been very strong, with many players citing Dragonriding as one of the best featuresWorld of Warcrafthas ever implemented, and the writing in the Dragon Isles being a marked improvement.RELATED:Blizzard Responds to World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Performance IssuesWithDragonflightSeason 1 commencing on December 12th, the only content available to players presently are Normal, Heroic, and baseline Mythic Dungeons – and according to the official World of Warcraft Twitter account, David Harbour will be streaming quite a few of them on Twitch at 2:00 PM PST. Maximum, Naguura, Annie Fuchsia, and Larsfest will be joining theStranger Thingsstar as he takes on the new dungeons ofDragonflight.
The precise role composition of this team is unknown, but David Harbour used to play a Night Elf Protection Warrior called Norad back in the day, serving as his raiding guild’s off-tank. While he may not necessarily reprise his role inDragonflight, there is something strangely fitting about the actor playing the tough Chief of Police Hopper being a Protection Warrior main inWorld of Warcraft. It’s quite possible that Harbour will want to showcase the new Evoker Hero class, which has become a very flashy addition to the tapestry of classes inWorld of Warcraft.
This stream is hardly the first celebrity-related collaboration that Blizzard Entertainment did forWorld of Warcraft: Dragonflight, as several famous actors played a part inDragonflight’s pre-launch marketing campaign such as Pedro Pascal. With Blizzard’s resources currently being spent on squashing the technicalissues that have plagued the newWorld of Warcraftexpansionsince release, a dungeon stream with David Harbour may just be the distraction both players and developers need.
World of Warcraft: Dragonflightis available now on PC.
