The video game world is getting closer and closer to experiencing theCyberpunk 2077game that had been promised to the fans all these years. With eachupdate to CD Projekt Red’s epic sci-fi RPGthat gets released, it seems that it is inching ever further away from the mess that it was when it was launched last year. While there’s still a way to go, the game is definitely showing signs of improvement. In fact, one fan was able to show a side-by-side comparison, making it obvious what’s been improved over the last few months.
Uploading a short clip to theCyberpunk 2077Subreddit recently, user pablo397 took a trip down one of the game’s many highways after some rain, comparing an older version, in this case 1.04 from last December, with the latest iteration. Retracing their path on the right-hand split in the video, which is from the 1.31 update, the results show the difference in some of the visual details, particularly when it comes to the wet reflections on the road. This is especially noticeable on the darker parts of the highway, in which the latest version of the game shows more realistic reflections compared to 1.04, in which the lighting seemed less realistic back then.

Some in the comments have also noted that the motorcycle itself has had some improvements, showing more accurate reflections than in the older update. One person did inquire as to whether it was a simple case of ray tracing being turned on in the 1.31 clip. However, pablo397 assured the user that all the settings were exactly the same between each version.While it does look like a simple case of RTX being turned off and on,ray tracing has existed inCyberpunksince day one, and this clip is showing the difference between updates, with all the original poster’s hardware settings remaining the same throughout.
Either way, it certainly paints a pretty picture of just how far along the game is coming. It’s not just official patches that are helping, either. TheCyberpunkmodding community is also issuing bug fixes, some of which were missed by the studio itself.
The game has had something of a negative reputation since it was released, with companies offering refunds to disgruntled players, and Sony removing the game entirely from its digital storefront. However, each patch that gets released does seem to be doing something.Cyberpunk 2077may never be bug-free, but it’s incrementally getting better with each update.
