There are few games quite likeCounter-Strike: Global Offensive. A mainstay in competitive video games in the esport scene for years with a die-hard following, it remains fresh and new through the skills of its players.
While the most well known aspect ofCS:GOis its competitive nature, there is another part of the game that is very, very important to its players: skins. As with many other games, there are different skins that players can find in loot drops and equip, and inCS:GO, these skins are for weapons. Players can even create their own, and in the case of player SLIMEface, they dedicated five years to it.

SLIMEface is the creator of the Bloodsport skin, originally designed for the SCAR-20, AK-47, and MP7. The skin theme is red and white with occasional logos across the gun surface. It looks pretty good, and players like it not just for that, but because it looks good on any gun. SLIMEface cemented this fact when, after five years of effort, they completed the task of creating the Bloodsport skin for every gun. Even in a community thatcreates levels based on other video game levels inCS:GO’s level creator, this is still a major creative feat.
Skins are held in very high esteem in theCS:GOcommunity, as they are, for the most part, the main way to express individuality in a game otherwise comprised of a brown and brown color scheme. While they may not technically impact gameplay, it’s a given that skins matter on another level. Of course, skins and maps are far from the only thing made by theCS:GOcommunity. Some have evenmade fake cheats to foilCS:GOcheaters, and it has worked spectacularly.
The completion of SLIMEface’s labor of love will no doubt bring joy to manyCS:GOplayers, who can now carry the beloved skin no matter what their gun of choice is. Hopefully with the2021CS:GOMajor reportedly canceled, this skin can bring players some degree of comfort even if they can’t watch the pros go ham on each other.
Indeed, skins may help players cope with a few things inCS:GOgoing forward, as the game is still changing in uncertain ways. Recently, thedevs removed replacement bots inCS:GO, a decision players are still torn over. But for any who just want to slap on a Bloodsport skin and forget their woes, the whole line is available in the Steam workshop forCS:GOnow.
